Rewriting Boo Berry —-Wednesday, April 30, 2025

Boo Berry and I always take a wee walk about— it’s good for her.  She is pretty sedentary.  If I’m working outside, she stays right by me, lying in the shade.  Or if the day is cool, in a spot of sunshine.

She doesn’t really do lots of exploring….only if I’m close, close by.

Some of this is the nature of her breed, but the other is conditioning.  She lived in a tiny kennel all of her life, from birth until I got her.

Gradually, she has developed the confidence to hang outside for a spell with

THE CAT!

But mostly she wants to be close to me.  It’s a process, but one we are making.

At least I don’t have to worry about her running off.  🙂

Ipseity (n.):  The quality of being oneself and embracing individuality, of what makes us unique.

From Blooms to Leaves, No Fruit This Year—- Monday, April 28, 2025

Just an ordinary Pear Tree—-But I love it!  It’s huge and frilly and oh so delightful.  Even though the fruit froze, we were gifted with the beauty of each small bloom anyway.

Seatherny (seth-er-nee) — Noun: The serenity one feels when listening to the chirping of birds

Melt, Last of the Freezes, YAY —-Sunday, April 27, 2025

I grew up in the shadow of Grand Mesa.  All my life I was told we could start planting when all the snow is melted on the point of Grand Mesa.

Well, we are there now.

We just finished watering all the corn ground—so, around Mother’s Day, (if not before :0  )we will plant.  Safely—because, after all, the snow is gone from the point on Grand Mesa.  🙂

Seijaku (say-jah-kool—–Japanese): Profound peace and stillness found in deep moments of solitude and gentle, quiet reflection.  Seijaku reminds us that solitude isn’t loneliness.  It’s a magical place of self-discovery and renewal.

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-Work! Friday, April 25, 2025

I’ve been busy—lots o’curing here on my stretch of the farm

We have a wild rooster hanging with Boo Berry, Mom and Dad and myself

He really shouldn’t be here—-I keep telling him that, but he pretends to not understand Cat!

The other day I chased him clear to the hay swather!

Good Job, TLC! I told myself.

Then Mom (MOM!) feeds the squirrels—and the crows and the birds, and the raccoons.  I have to make mad dashes at them

One day, Mom said—“That’s enough, TLC”!

“We can let everyone live here comfortably.”

HUMPH!  So I went in and took a long, long nap.

Things will look better when I wake up.

TLC

I helped Mom!  Whatever Mom wants, I want!

No Longer are the Evenings Violet — Thursday, April 24, 2025

Pheasant—Tuesday, April 22, 2025

Isn’t he just beautiful!

He has decided to live in our yard, for some reason

Although I really would prefer he wouldn’t.

Because of this fur kid!   I’m afraid if the male survives TLC, the female might not, and

And foresure the wee ones would be in lots of danger.

He is so pretty!

The sunlight glows upon his feather in such a marvelous way!  I guess we wait and see what comes.  But I do hope he decides to move along.  Away from the

Guard cat.

Aspaldiko (Basque): The euphoria and happiness felt when catching up with someone you haven’t seen in a long time.

The Wind Kicked up Thursday, Friday and Saturday— Monday, April 21, 2025

Bringing with it a terrible, nasty cold front

No matter the wind and nasty cold, the irrigation had to keep on keeping on

The pears, the prunes, and the sour cherries all froze.

We have these friendly little flowers!

Boketto (Japanese): The act of gazing vacantly into the distance without thinking.
