Ah, March—You are Such a Trickster! —- Sunday, March 16, 2025

A winter storm blew in over the weekend—taking away the warmth of the ALMOST SPRING sun…bringing with it a hint of moisture and the song of a heavy duty March wind.

I am okay with all of that—because AT SOME POINT the thaw will come and so will SPRING weather!

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-News!!! Friday, March 14, 2025

Mom is now in a regular tennis shoe, or a hiking boot, or — another hard-sole, thick sided shoe!

She says she can hardly wait for FLIP FLOPS

She has to wear the boot if her foot starts to feel extremely tired.  I’ll bet that is a rare thing for mom.  (Just say’n)

Another exciting thing is the American Tree Sparrows are back!!  They like to get in the tip-top of the Cottonwood trees and SING LOUD!!

We all rejoice when we hear them.

SPRING IS STARTING to HAPPEN!!

Our Job Then —- Thursday, March 13, 2025

It is to learn to thrive no matter what is thrown at you.

Stash the melancholy, but move to a bit of a different song.

This weekend, I will move to permanent hiking boot(s), or hard-soled tennis shoes.   Things are progressing right along.  Different shoes, whole days ahead (for two weeks) then — hopefully — my foot has healed correctly and I’m good to go again

(this was plucked from my archives—no snow here right now )

FLIP FLOPS!!!  I HOPE!!!  I can hardly wait!!

Go Outside—Sit Quietly—Relax—-Wednesday, March 12, 2025

Mom and I and Boo Berry like to go outside and sit still—in the sunshine if we can find it.

Once we find the sunshine–the world falls away and everything slows down.  Until it’s just us–resting in the sun.

The World is Tipping — Tuesday, March 11, 2025

I can tell by the sun.  It’s moving closer and closer toward the Summer Equinox slot on the Uncompahgre Plateau.

And the Big Birds!  I can tell by them we are leaning toward Spring now (in just a few few days).  They are in a hurry to get North.  To the breeding grounds and cooler weather.

Once we reach ‘just the right spot,’ the tipping will stop. We will rebalance and settle back into the Groove.

YAY!

Life—Have you Really Thought About Life?—Monday, March 10, 2025

I have been thinking about it for some time.  (I think you know that 🙂 )

The older one gets and you blink a year has passed

Then you blink again and your grandchildren are grown up leading very interesting lives

See the heart in the sunlight 🙂

At my age, it seems like life can slip between gaps in time and then get lost

Memory can slip and blur.

Life is stunningly hard, amazingly beautiful, delightfully exciting, and full of adventures.

It’s how we live our lives — my prayer is that we (each and everyone) live the fullest and most caring, healing, giving (even to yourself) life possible.

(some photos are from my archives.  🙂  )

We Have Sun and We Have Winter— Thursday, March 6, 2025

(from the archives)

It looked like this Tuesday morning

(archive photo—but pretty accurate.  Thick in some spots from the wind and not so much in others)

But it soon melted.  Although we had a terribly cold wind.  March is always such a fickle month.  Don’t ya think?

It’s the Simple Things, My Friends— Wednesday, March 5, 2025

As you progress through life, you discover (in your old age) it is the very simplest of things you can’t live without.  Not food, not a house, not shopping.  But those things that lift your spirit and make life enjoyable.   It’s the small things. The everyday bits and pieces which lift your spirit and make this world a tad better.

“Sometimes it takes only one act of kindness and caring to change a person’s life.”–Jackie Chan, Actor and Director.
