I Think About the Old Gods Sometimes — Tuesday, March 4, 2025

While Terry was cutting up a downed tree, I started thinking about the gifts of the Ancient Peoples. (I can’t help but I can be there if he gets hurt)

(from the archives)

I think they were right—-there is a magic, and an etheral force everywhere— in the rivers, the canals, the lakes,

(from my archives)

They encourage and bring to us the growth of the fields

(Fuzzy’s dark forest at the Back Forty of our place)

They sing in the woods.

They gather around us all the time—in fur form, or sunlight dappling,

or something so beautiful we stand amazed. The old Gods gather at the edges of our eyes—if we turn quickly, we can sometimes see them.

Yes they are there–to bring us the gifts of amazing wonder every day of our lives.

Bending from Heaven,

In azure mirth, it kissed the forehead of the Earth,

and Smiled upon the silent seas.”–Percy Bysshe Shelley

These are the Restless Days—Monday, March 3, 2025

The cold Gods are now preparing to rest—getting jammies on, brushing their teeth, one last drink of water before heading to bed until late October or Early November

The big birds are restless too.  The longing to head north to the mating and raising of chicks season.

And the song birds—soon to start arriving.  I have yet to see any Western Bluebirds, but I am watching for them!

Although I did see a Western Meadowlark yesterday.  WHAT a neat surprise!

A Fickle, but Welcome Month, Sunday, March 2, 2025

It’s that seam between the long dark cold months and the warm beautiful green months.

You don’t know whether to wear a coat, jacket, or light sweater.

We will swing wildly between cold winter blasts of rough winds and the brightening of green springs of grass and plants.

STILL I AM HAPPY TO BE HERE!! MARCH HAS COME!!

Have you Ever Thought — Thursday, February 27, 2025

I can remember thinking that I had lots and lots of time—time to do this or that or whatever. But now, at 76, I realize life really goes so fast!

So very, very very fast.  So keep each day in your heart and live fully.  It goes fast.

Really, very fast!!!

And mead and forest yet are bare:

But there’s a something in the light

That says the germ of life is there.”— Jane Goodwin Austin

A Few Days Ago — Wednesday, February 26, 2025

A few days ago it snowed a freezing icy mix

TLC demanded to go outside.  So okay, I let him out.

It wasn’t but seconds (a walk down the sidewalk—turn around) and scram back into the house!

I had to laugh out loud.

Yep!  Pretty nasty out there you silly kitty!

Ah—-How I love the Glow of the Sun —- Monday, February 24, 2025

I love how it breaks up the Uncompahgre Plateau Range

Or the morning light fills the cracks and crevices on the Uncompahgre Plateau

Or gifts us with a Sundog or is that a rainbow?

And there there is the light through birds’ wings!

Light!  Sunshine!  Who can ask for more?

Rough Times Come to Everyone—Sunday, February 23, 2025

(Sun on TLC)

I’ve been thinking—it seems like everyone gets to have/experience tough/hard/miserable times

It’s just the way the Universe helps us become better people. Or, if you don’t believe in a higher Power, the way we can learn and experience how to ‘over-come’ obstacles.

(Yes, he got himself down.—Slick as you can please!)

So, we are all very independent in our thinking and therefore our actions…..if something goes South (instead of North)—we find out if we dare to fight on.

(TLC is trying to see if we are home and if he can come in.  🙂  )

And you know something—we usually can.  Maybe we need some help from others, but mostly we have to give it our all to make things swing UPward again.

March is coming!  YAY!

March is always the start of Spring for Terry and I

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-BIG FEET!!! TALL and SCARY, Friday, February 21, 2025

If there is one thing, Boo Berry and I are terrified of, it is THIS!

(Glory Bee)

(LaVerne)

(T’Ata)

They like to kick small furry (and absolutly darling little animals).

So we try to never go out there.

But Dad says they will be going back to their forever home and the farm will open back up for US!

Mom says not long until Spring now!
