Those Angelic Little Feathered Friends of Ours —- Monday, February 27, 2023

These are some of the tiny winter birds

Who spend their winter (here)

With us.

Often living with us year-round. 🙂

These little feathered friends have great a capacity for suffering through the cold

And never complain!

Always, always they chirp and sing—

Adding tranquillity to our days

Their radiant joy always lends itself to our hearts

I always gift them with sweet-scented seeds

For, after all, they need to keep heat in their bodies

And a full tummy to go to bed on 🙂

They are a peaceful and

a joyful part of each and every day!

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-Our Thoughts on Winter, Friday, February 24, 2023

The wind came. (see my ruffled fur)

And the slick ice

and the mud

And then another round of snow

Then more wind. (See the wind in our hair)

Mom says it’s the end of February and all this won’t last. She says it will probably be here until the middle of March, and it will just go away!

We sure hope mom is right.

The Earth Smells Cold (but Sweet) —- Thursday, February 23, 2023

We are melting—all the beautiful wonderful exciting to see icicles, have fallen

Sliding off the roof in large thudding sheets

Mud is starting to manifest and ICE!  Lots and lots of ice.

Although, the drifts are still thick and heavy in places

The shadows fling across the lawn; colored in blue.  Perfect for a cold winter’s day.

My Brother and My Very Beautiful Sister-in-Law —- Wednesday, February 22, 2023

Dan and Cloudy have several lakes on their property.  While out checking on everything they came across a heart—just for me.

WOW!

Thank you so much, Dan and Cloudy!

A perfect winter heart!

From my heart to your world,

Linda

Awash in Snow We Gradually (very gradually) Grow Warmer — Tuesday, February 21, 2023

The snow is so bright at night it is all the light we need

The world blanched into beautiful magical white

Then the glorious, incredibly wonderful SUN CAME OUT!

Causing exuberance dancing lights on all the snow

And lush blue shadows!

Incredible delight!

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Gradually, Gradually, We Started to Warm Up—Monday, February 20, 2023

-5* the next morning after the storm finally stopped

A cold designed to create stillness

While we waited for the air to start warming again

Waiting for the snow drifts to start melting (at least a bit)

Waiting, wary, because melt

always means ice!

Good night my friends!

Then the Broad Strokes of a Massive Blizzard — Sunday, February 19, 2023

Our world illuminated in blue and white

Beautiful

Thick

And filled with wind

So very eloquent

This snow burst which came in Monday night, lasted all day and all night Tuesday, all day Wednesday —

I had to sweep off the chicken run roof several times—the chickens complaining they missed the sun! They didn’t much like being in a tunnel 🙂

The last I measured we had 10″—then the wind came up and more snow came down.

What an amazing deadly stunningly gorgeous storm!

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-Four is a Great Age for My New Life, Friday, February 17, 2023

Mom will tell you all about our big four-day and four-night snow on Sunday… right now I want to tell you —-

I JUST LOVE MY NEW LIFE!!!

I have so many things I get to do, so many things I want to do, and things I didn’t even KNOW I wanted to do.

Like ride with Mom in the car!

Wait! Wait!

Back to the beginning.

My first 3 ½ years were spent in a kennel, hearing other dogs, and then getting to have a visit with a boy dog—that never lasted long, in and out kinda thing.

Then I got to come live with MOM and Dad and my very own cat, TLC!!

For the first two months, it was scary! I had issues with some things, like wetting the floor anytime I got afraid. (and I WAS afraid lots—but NOT any more 🙂 )

Although, it didn’t take me long to like to go “OUTSIDE” to do my private stuff.  Mom always told me I was a GOOD GIRL so going outside was fun. And freeing. And Full of cool things to smell.

Anyway…that is a moot point. Mom and I have worked out a system of understanding and all is good.

You know, if I were a human, I would be 32 years old. I would be holding down a good job—kids growing up—you know—established.

Well!  I am AM established!

I play with TLC.  I go outside BY myself (sometimes, well, not often, only if TLC is with me)

I go on very long walks with Mom whereby I can sniff the news to my heart’s content.

I ride in my very own basket with Mom as she does ‘stuff’ on the farm.

And Now!

I can load myself up into the car, get over into the passenger seat, or on Mom’s lap and go for a car ride!

It’s no longer so scary I have to hide my eyes!

YES! I am getting Established!  Four is a perfect age for me!

Before the Big Snow Storm —- Thursday, February 16, 2023

Before our big snowstorm hit

We had three giant limbs trimmed off the trees

They were hanging over the house, making everyone feel very unsafe.

We got all the branches picked up and hauled away but a few—then the storm hit.

With all the wind in this storm it was a good thing to get done.
