Coming back from finishing the fence for the last time this year (we hope)
I glanced down and SAW and KISS and HUG from the earth!
I stand in awe at the beauty of our world. I really do.

Mom has been having adventures without Boo and me.
I can’t say I really wanted to be with her on those treks.
First, two of the cows on the place figured out how to jump into the dry canal, and scrabble out onto the other side—which happens to belong to someone else.
Then they ran here and there and everywhere.
The Rancher’s Wife came down to help—horse and three cow dogs. In about 20 minutes, the cows were up, the gates secure, the horse and dogs loaded up and headed up the road to home.
Mom says Cow Horses and Cow Dogs are amazing to watch. And the rancher, herself.
Then the next morning, one of the horses that lives with us. Decided she needed a boyfriend and jumped clear over the fence into the cows.
Guess what —No Boyfriend there.
That took Mom to walk T’Atat and LaVerne into the barn/corral and Dad to come behind with Glory.
Of course, nothing is ever E.A.S.Y, but still everyone got in and fed and watered—whew!
I heard Mom and Dad talking about everything when they came into the house.
I told Boo Berry what they said. Boo Berry…our fearsome, Austrian Shepherd sighed with relief, “I’m so glad, I’m not a cow dog.”
I just stared at her. Really, I thought. Your breed IS cow dog.
Oh, well.
(Day is breaking!)
Faster and Faster now—quickening like a spring melt stream
I must hurry and get my Christmas food under control, and finish cleaning my house….I have family coming. All the girls and their partners, our two grandchildren serving in the military, and Tally, who is still at home, will be here. Plus one more — Blade is bringing his girl—Karla!
It’s all so exciting! And I’m feeling a tad rushed….and a little on the old side. 🙂
Merry Christmas, MY Friends—time is moving forward!

I love the celebration of the sky
A consolation of what is heading toward us next month and the month after
I love the random moment of warm, bright color
Because you never know when those colors are going to brighten the winter sky; not like in the warmer months when we have bright sunrises and sunsets all the time.
So the feast of beauty is marvelous—a thing of wonder to hold us through the lean times.

Hard winter is now upon us
Although the snow is mostly gone
The ground is frozen solid [therefore, no mud :)}
Still, joys are abounding —COWS!!! Cows are neither silent or still, they talk to each other, move about trying out this field or that. Eating weeds, and grasses and breaking up and stomping on hard big weeds.
Looking for big clumps of cheat grass. (Cheat grass is green and lush and yummy, year round!)
Cows!
Moving, eating (even at night)
Rippling pretty past us bringing happiness to them, us, and the rancher!
