More Fires in our Area —- Wednesday, July 6, 2025

It is a scary time here.

Leroux Fire started yesterday.  Burning at the 7X ranch

It wasn’t that long ago Terry and I took a wee trip in that part of our county.

Another fire started on the Uncompahgre Plateau.  The Turner Fire is still active, and now another one has begun.

What a scary, scary time.

We Made It to the Middle — Tuesday, July 6, 2021

Here we are— right smack dab in the middle of summer

The day dawned all goldened and glittery with sunshine splitting the over-night dark clouds

Gathering up his energy off Terry went—

2nd Cutting of Alfalfa—-we are smack dab in the middle of Summer now. (Third cutting of alfalfa will be at the ending of Summer 🙂   )

The Promise, Moving Steadily into Being — Monday, July 6, 2020

For some reason, I always feel like July 4th is the Middle of Summer

I don’t know why I feel that way, but I do.

The dew burns off fast this time of year

The growth of the corn is increasing hourly now

Overnight the tassels have started to shoot upward into the deep rich blue of the sky

The soughing wind will soon

(see the tiny ear starting to form 🙂 )

Cause the pollen to float down onto the silks making little kernels of corn—- growing there in the dark green shadows of the protecting leaves.

Knee-high by the 4th of July…I do believe we have made it!

Happy Summer, Everyone!

A Walk Down my Little Path —Monday, July 6, 2015

3Step into my little side garden and sit a spell with me.

1I’ll bring out some iced tea, or if you prefer a Pepsi

2We will talk about nothing really.  Just sit and get to know each other–tell little stories of times gone by

4We will share the garden with the Hummingbirds, the bumble bees and the honey bees, I hope you are not afraid of them…they rush tangibly here and there among the flowers

5I’ll snip you some herbs–catnip for your kitties, or maybe some catmint, a small bouquet of lavender…or mondera for your tea.

rewCome sit in the garden with me.

Your friend,

Linda
