LOOK!

There in the crowded little bird cafe…enjoying a tiny little feast

Twisting this way and that on the treat feeder….a darling little woodpecker!

I think it is a Downy Woodpecker.

The Sky is still Frumpy with Winter —Wednesday, January 22, 2020

The birds of winter—-

Those delightful wandering large and small birds

Filling the air with their gossip and chatter

Shining brightly there in the sky

Filling our lawn with their busy searching and scratching

Then suddenly lifting up in a huge swoosh of wings

The tap-tap tapping on the bark of the very old Cottonwood tree fills the cold winter air

A pair of owls gently shake the branches of the same tree each evening as they call one to the other

A blackbird, of some sort, rests in the branches waiting for submissive sun take back the sky from clouds

The crows tell all the secrets of the land.

Thank Heavens for the winter birds.  They make my winter life ever so much better.

That Extraordinary Weight of My Heart —-Sunday, November 18, 2018

Sometimes there are things within seemingly ordinary days

That blaze forth into my heart, mind, and soul

Often times its something so tremendously common, yet so toweringly wonderful

They seem to blanket the earth, or the sky, whichever it may be

The commonplace whispers to me with throbbing messages of distant lands or new places to see

Sometimes it an amazing gift of wings in flight

Or grumbling clouds filled with streaks of light

But always, always whispering all around me in slow rhythmic  movements

Silently the every day of common things weigh wonderful upon my life.

From my world to your heart,

Linda
