All day the clouds shifted here and there. Sometimes dropping rain, moving on, gathering again, lashing out
thunder, lighting, wind… the violence of each passing storm was exhilarating!
The earth, our crops, even myself sighed with relief.
Later in the night, well, actually early, early in the morning, the skies cleared and the stars came out.
We woke to a beautiful morning. Fresh, clean, clear…a feeling of lightness in air!
Your rejuvenated friend on a Western Colorado Farm,
Linda
Wasn’t that great!?!? Usually we just have to watch the storms hover over your area and then bypass us. Yesterday evening we got pounded. Ended up with an inch here but I’ll be other parts of Cedaredge got more. Loved, loved, loved it! 🙂

Glad you both had rain. We also had rain here in south central Kansas, 60 miles south of Wichita. Was needed sooo bad. Every day this week have had nice showers, no bad stuff.
Wheat is done and row crops, planted . Coming up great. Lot of hay also.
Gardens also doing good. have a good weekend. Sharon Drake

I can just about smell your cool, fresh, damp morning air. How lovely, and what a great show Nature puts on for us sometimes. One day, you and I will be sitting on my back porch while the monsoon rains come down. We’ll be looking at the almost solid water sheeting down into my back yard. It’ll be very warm and humid, and the temptation to go paddling will be very strong, except that the rain is so heavy we’ll be in danger of being knocked out by the drops of water! Same water, but such different experiences…

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I would need to hide from nature’s fireworks, a metal hip acts like a lightening conductor! I love the clear air after one of those storms.

I once sat out a lightening storm from inside my car, The tyres acted as a barrier by lifting me off the road and out of danger.

I can only imagine what it must be like to have warm summer rains, Linda… we are battening down for the coldest nights of the year, with bitter winds straight off the Antarctic and snow further down the country… BRRRRrrrr! Plle on another log…
