Rainbows!!!
In the east we had a rainbow, then in the west we had
A sun dog!
I just love seeing these colored lights in the sky!
So far we are starting to have more and more spring like days.
I’ll take it!

I love Graveyards. I like spending time in the peace and silence of cemeteries
There is just so much history there. So many lives that have made up this wild and wonderful world we live in
I also love family research
History, Genealogy, cemeteries all rolled up in one place. Pretty Nice.
For more Sunday Stills go here!

Our old head gate was made of wood and many, many years old. A couple of times last year when I went to open the gate the wood broke off in my hand.
But this was the magic year…our canal was on the ditch companies to do list for maintenance!
We now have a new METAL headgate.
Terry fixed the carrier ditch so we are now good to go as soon as farming starts.
Pretty cool! Another sure sign spring is getting closer.

But it’s beautiful right now, and that is what really matters!
Not all of the snow has gone, but with this warm weather it should be out of here by the time the next storm hits.
Our next door farming neighbor is still trying to get his corn in. The moisture is running around 15%. Boy do we feel for him!
The sun has been just delightful…this falcon thinks so also. Bitter weather is hard on everything.
Babies are due any day now. I suppose they will wait until the storms hit.
Our cows still stay pretty close together, but not far from the visiting herd.
Until the next storm…
Life is Good!

It warmed up to 48* for two days in a row
And it’s acting like we might hit 49 or 50* today.
I’ll take the mud…
One of the nice things about this melt is we are NOT having wind. Although, the wind does make pretty patterns in the left over snow.
It also shows just how much wind we have been getting.
Of course now I won’t have as clear a picture of what goes on out there (rabbit and bird tracks)
Another storm is suppose to come in Wednesday (with wind)
Bunny rabbit hopping over the bird tracks.
For now I’ll take this break and enjoy it. February has been just way too long.

The rancher who rents our farm for winter pasture called this morning and said he was ready to bring his cows in, he wondered if we were ready for him. He said he had about 80 cows left to calve out —
Terry told him to come on up.
Once Davis’s cows hit the bean field they didn’t stop until they got to the hay field.
But what was funny were our cows….they were up in the corn field when they noticed all of the commotion down at the gate…suddenly it dawned on them ….their friends were back! Our cows reached the others just about the time Davis’s cows hit the hayfield.
Ahhhhh!

I saw a sundog this morning when I drove into work. We are still cold. The wind has stopped (YEAH) and the sun came out. Blue skies always make me happy.
The above photo didn’t capture the sundog very well, but I guess it will have to do.
For about an hour today we got up to 25*, but it is dropping again, 14* as I write this. I have begun to wonder if come June and July we are going to see heat to equal this cold.
If the weather is fine and frosty at the close of January and the beginning of February, there is more winter ahead than behind.
When the cat lies in the sun in February
She will creep behind the stove in March.
Of all the months of the year
Curse a fair February.
If it thunders in February,
it will frost in April.
If February give much snow,
A fine summer it doth foreshow.

We are still having really bad weather. Snow and wind. Always the wind, Always! I think Wyoming has slid down the map and landed in our area we have had so much wind this year.
Can you believe this?! Terry went to another farm sale this morning. Had to be there by 8:00. They were done by noon. The crowd was small, but very determined. Prices brought more than normal. I sort of thought no one would show up….it’s very cold outside 20* with a wind chill of Zero.
Here is an idea of what the crazy wind is doing ……
Not a lot of snow with it but what is there is swirling everywhere.
It’s suppose to drop to 1* tonight with a wind chill of -13*.
This stuff is suppose to be in here until at least the weekend.
Sigh!
