Under a bright Fall (September is Fall to me) sun, we headed into the forest
Yep! That time of year again! 🙂

As the sun starts rising,
Or setting
Beneath cloudy skies of storm clouds
The need to keep the crops on our place watered has been a constant
Since early spring.
We are starting into the home run now.
The corn is almost all dented. Once dented, we will water one more time. (to be sure all the kernals are nice and full)
After which, we stop all irrigation on the three corn fields.
After that, we will water the two alfalfa fields a couple of more times. We don’t want them going into the winter dry. If they are too dry, they will die over the winter.
Starting to wind down now.

But I only was able to get a photo of this one—the rest were a blur.
This little guy gets really upset at different times. I’m rather glad I’m on a four-wheeler. (Me thinks it’s the dog he is upset with.)
Soon we will be on the last irrigation of the season. Soon.

The sky is changing colors
Thankfully, gone are the 100+* days.
We are moving into the vibrant rich colors of Autumn
Yay! Welcome September!
The heat just about drained me into nothingness this year.
I just hope we have a long, long fall. One we all enjoy!

This is Mr. and Mrs Pheasant. I’ve only seen one batch of chicks. I hope there have been more.
We do have a family of foxes up here. A passel of skunks—and of course, masses of Raccoons. Not to fail to mention the coyotes.
