The Adventures of Boomer on Friday— We All Walk About, Mindy–Friday, October 11, 2019

Mom, Boomer and I went for a walkabout.

That means we walked to the cross over ditch.  Mom won’t go much further because she thinks I will get lost on the farm.  Then we walked down the long lane to the county road; then home, again, home, again, we trod.

Out by the grain bin, we saw a FOX!  Boomer ran up to say “Hi!” but the fox ran off.

Fast!  Faster than an old/ancient beagle can run.  Of course, Mom was yelling at Boomer to “COME HERE!  Boomer, come back”!

The fox could have run off because of Mom and her loud voice.  Don’t ya think?

Then when we went for a walk down the long, long lane to the road, Mom made all of us turn around and RUN back toward the house as fast as possible.

Mom didn’t yell this time.

She just turned around and RAN!

After all that excitement, Mom picked me up, opened the back door, told Boomer to get in the house and that was it.

Run over!

Walk over!

Finished!

Songs of My Heart—Tuesday, October 16, 2018

There are so many things that set my heart to singing

Seeing the moon (at any time; day or night)  lifts my heart –and seeing a tiny star next to the moon makes the joy even more generous

Setting up on the rocky point the sky dancing with light….wonderous

Helping put the finished ditches and the latest harvested fields to bed for the winter, all within brilliant hues of light—buoyant

A wee walk in the night where there is nothing shining but house and farm lights and the STARS!—Priceless

While out on a small walkabout

Finding a heart rock….a gift from the earth, the wind and the Universe

Brought home to grace my window…exquisite

From my world to your heart,

Linda

The Adventures of Boomer on Friday—-Friday Update

We had a winter storm come in on Tuesday.  What a long boring day that was….the cats and I slept most the day.

Early morning the birds still look like its cold.

The storm blew in a pair of Robin’s!  Mom was ecstatic!  I didn’t get it, they were just Robins.  But Mom was happy so I was too!

bay

I got in huge trouble because I brought in a fresh afterbirth.  I had just brought it onto the lawn when Mom saw me.  Grabbed the really yummy thing and hauled it to the burn barrel.

Bummer!

calf-check

Mom, Dad, and I do a daily calf run.  I Love Going on the Four-Wheeler! I just love it!  I’m safe up there, from those old mean momma cows, and I can see and sniff to my heart’s content, without having to walk!

they-are-back

Mom and Dad are still cutting and hauling and stacking wood.  Three loads a day.  Although, they don’t go if the weather is snowing.

Just a minute…..
