The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-Black FRIDAY, Friday, November 29, 2024

I wonder why they call it Black Friday.

It’s not very black today.  Actually, I’ve never really seen a BLACK day….some pretty dark nights, but never black truly.

When it’s night I wouldn’t call it black—pretty dark, but never Black.

I’m black, well, parts of me are.  There is a wild black kitty that lives somewhere here on the farm, but not a BLACK day.

Hoomans are soooooooooo strange!

And the Rains Came—Thursday, November 28, 2024

We had rain…lots and lots of the cold, dreary, life-giving stuff!

But our work never really slowed down—

We just changed to things that need to be done in the house and in the outbuildings.

One thing about all this cold rain (and snow flakes), the leaves are finally almost off all the trees and bushes.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING ONE AND ALL!  You are a blessing to me!

Birds, Plants, and Winter Living — Wednesday, November 27, 2024

Ah!  I love the winter birds!  They are so brave and courageous!

(It hasn’t snowed here yet—this is from my archives.—-But it is raining and raining and raining)

Winter is such a hard time, but still, they fill our days with winter bird song!

(Plants are like people—they come in various colors, shapes, sizes, and personalities.  People and plants, surprisingly, have the same genetic code in their DNA strings—-A’s, T’s, C’,s and G’s.   — Jacqueline McComas

Next in the Line of WORK— Tuesday, November 26, 2024

“Forever on Thanksgiving Day, the heart will find the pathway home.”–Wilbur D. Nesbit

We began cleaning out the catchment pond

(this is used to improve the quality of water going onto the farm: the dirt settles to the bottom filling up the pond and not clogging up the siphon tubes)

We worked for ten hours and then stopped.  We will begin again later.  There is about three days’ worth of hauling there.

Brightening My Day — Monday, November 25, 2024

We had finished up!  Cleaned and parked the truck, cleaned and parked the combine

When walking back to the house I SAW a Kiss from the earth!

LOOK!!! Isn’t it just perfect!

I’ve never found one, before, with hints of pink in it.  I brought it home, washed it up, and set it in my kitchen window!

Brightening my life every time I look at it!

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-FUN! FUN! FUN!!! ‘Till Momma Takes it Away, Friday, November 22, 2024

My oldest human sister bought me an amazing gift!

It sounds like a real bird, it flops like a real bird and tastes like a real bird.

I LIKE IT!

Mom is always taking the real birds away from me.  She says I can’t eat real birds only mice. She then puts the real birds somewhere….I look but I can never find them.

Wherever Mom puts them I hear Mom say—“Now you are safe!  Heal quickly and fly away.”

I have to really attack this bird so Mom will leave it alone.

BIRD! BIRD! BIRD! BIRD IS THE WORD!!!!!

Sometimes the Sky, the Earth, the Moon —- Thursday, November 21, 2024

Sometimes the sky, the Earth, and the moon, seem

Seem well, seems so wistful! And lonesome—adding a degree of, I don’t know—I don’t seem to have words.  Just a feeling.  Pink water, pink clouds, and a sliver of a moon.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Watching Watching Always Watching— Wednesday, November 20, 2024

I watched a rainstorm play along the Uncompahgre Plateau, dipping down into the Roubidoux Canyon.

We had sprinkles here.

But more than sprinkles I saw this gift

As the golden hour appeared so did a rainbow shining amoung the dark clouds and the leaves being lifted and flown through the air

Delightful!

Coming back from the first Cornfield, walking quickly, but not too fast, I happened to look down to a wonderous gift from the farm/earth to me!
