A Late Summer Rainbow — Tuesday, September 5, 2023

We were loading out a load of hay when I happened to look at the sky

A quick little rain shower brought with it a prism of light

All around us, the earth smelled of heat, dirt, alfalfa, and the fresh scent of rain in the air.

What a lovely gift at the end of the day!

Time Moves on in It’s Soft, Silent Way — Thursday, August 31, 2023

Our world is still full of the song of the swallows—

But the signs are there.  Sadly.

They are gathering now.  Spending lots of time on the electric wire, chattering and singing.

I love these little birds!  They are the last to come in the Spring

And the last to leave in the Summer.

Now they are starting to queue up, disciplining themselves for that long, long flight to other places

Only they know when it is time to take off.

I hope I get to see them gather into a large swirling murmuration;

So I can wave goodbye!

I got to do that ONCE!  Only once in my 74 years.  Maybe I will get to do it again.

Only time will tell.

The Trouble with —- Wednesday, August 30, 2023

The trouble with Rainbows is they never last!

The gift of a rainbow is the fact they never last!

A beautiful rainbow right here —with rain coming down on the plateau and putting out the fires!!

YAY!

RAINBOWS are just the best!

There are Glimmers of Love, Hope and Joy in the World Everywhere — Monday, August 28, 2023

The old Gods live with us, even now.  They provide sparkles on the water, help the fields grow/turn green/ripen, and sing to us in the morning/noon/evening.

They gather close to us all the time, but only at the edges of our lives: the edge of morning, the edge of evening; edges.

But Glimmers—now—they come in all forms, (also).

Saturday—in the mail came a hand-made card from Far Side of Fifty.

Telling me I was in her thoughts.

Glimmers of goodness abound everywhere, always.

Thank you so much, Connie!  The card was a lovely surprise-you are so talented. And your handwritten note is a true blessing.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

As You Grow Older and Older — Sunday, August 27, 2023

As you grow older and older you find out that you can not really live without the simple little things, those small joys which make up life.

And one of the small but (so exciting) joys is opening an email with a gift inside.

A luxurious snapshot of Sara’s farm, the sheep, and A HEART Cloud!

Lucky, lucky me!!

Thank you so much, Sara!

From my world to your heart,

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-Another Fire on the Plateau, Friday, August 25, 2023

Another fire!  Not far from the first one!

Smoke fills the rim of our sky and sometimes the whole sky.

Mom says there are other worse fires out there in the world.

What we all need right now is RAIN!

Without lightning and thunder.

Caught on the Game Camera — Wednesday, August, 23, 2023

Yep!  Us!

I had sat the game camera down (heading out to the corn field to see if I can photo the deer).

These two wanted in—so I helped them by opening the door! 🙂

The Seam Between Summer and Autumn—Tuesday, August 22, 2023

August is that point in time when things are moving toward a huge change

If you spend all your time inside a building or a car you won’t notice anything

Until the slow movement has stirred itself into true

Fall.

But, if you are like Terry and me, outside much of the time—you will realize the gift we are being given—

The sun still sending us heat and the cooler mornings heading toward Autumn.
