Boo Berry Betty Tells a Story—-Friday, May 16, 2025

Mom said I needed a haircut—- soooo

Off we went and got a new summer do.

Anyway, I’ve been telling a story.  First, I tell myself in my mind.  Then I go to Mom and tell her.  THEN, together we write it.

So Here we go—My Very First Chapter

First off, I was born.  Yep, just like you, and TLC and Mom and Dad.

I really don’t remember much.  I do remember being licked all over by Momma.  Then I remember eating.  Yum.  (I still love food SO much!)

I remember I had a brother and a sister.

I also remember being picked up by a hooman.  Flipped over- pronounced girl, then put back down with my family.

I remember feeling safe with Momma and my brother and sister.  The hooman was a tad scary.  She (yes, it was a woman) would come to our spot, put down food for Momma.  Momma would get up, go eat, and get a drink of water.  She didn’t go far, we could still feel her, but only her legs.  Then she would come back and lie down again.

Sometimes she would lick us all over, and sometimes just turn her back to us and sleep.  When she did that, my brother would whine and cry until he finally fell asleep.

My eyes weren’t open for a LONG time.  But I knew Momma, my brother, and my sister.

The hooman I didn’t really know.  She would pick us up randomly and flip us this way and that, but nary a sound did she make. She didn’t even talk to Momma.  Momma said she was a tad scary.  I believed Momma.

Well, that was the beginning.  The Very beginning.

Mom said it’s good to start at the beginning, so I did.  I have to think about Chapter Two, so I’ll stop now.

Here is just before I went to get my hair cut.   Boy, it was long.

Sometimes—Sigh—-Yes, Sometimes,— Tuesday, May13, 2025

I wake to a vague feeling of sadness

It’s not over-whelming, but just a low, deep feeling within

Sometimes I can shake it off, sometimes not.

Do you have such days?

The Wild Beauty and The Cultivated Beauty— Thursday, May 8, 2025

The songs of the birds, the drones of the bees, mingle with the pulse of the earth

As does the sun

(Fahrvergnugen: German, the pleasure one feels from simply driving around.)

casting shadows

The granules of dirt, the sound of water, the sun, the sky

Bring completeness to each and every soul.

While By Myself Working on the Farm, Wednesday, May 7, 2025

I would often stop and listen to the bird songs and the distant sounds of traffic and thank God for allowing me to drift into this dream-like time with nature.

A true blessing.
