The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-The End of the Story, Friday, August 15, 2025

After that Crow thing I told,  “Boo Berry, we can’t be friends with the wild animals.  We just can’t.” Hrumphed TLC

“Gosh, why not?  I thought it was fun talking to the Stanley, Stanley, Stanley, Stanley.  And getting to see his homes.  I must admit the crow was very alarming. VERY! But you saved me, so that turned out good.”

“There is a natural order to things, Boo Berry.  Your job is to bark at squirrels, and their job is to run fast from you. That is how it all works.” TLC turned tail and marched off.

(And MINE is to HUNT SQUIRRELS. And mice, and voles, and—-)

“BOO BERRY!” Mom yelled, “Let’s go!  It’s time to help Dad with the hay.” Mom came out the door, stooped down, and swooped me up into her arms.

“Time to get to work, Boo Berry, it haying time!”

Well, I guess that’s the end of my storytelling.  Perhaps someday I will have a cool adventure to share with you.  But, then again, maybe not.  That crow sorta took the ‘venture’ out of adventure for me.  I am sticking with Mom; it’s a lot safer that way.

(But….I do wonder about Stanely, Stanely, Stanely, Stanely’s family and their homes.)

{and what other neat animals live on the farm}

Until next time!

Summer Light—Autumn Light, Thursday, August 15, 2024

The light is changing.  Truly changing.

Summer is starting its migration to the other part of our globe.  The nights are creeping longer and longer; the plants and the soil are beginning to sigh.

The animals are ramping up eating and gathering…

It’s all there, even if the heat is still going strong —

“Live in the sunshine, swim the sea. Drink the wild air.”–Ralph Waldo Emerson

From Kate —- YAY— Sunday, August 15, 2021

It is ever so much fun to open my email and find a wee gift:

“Hello!

We’ve just had the first rain of the season. Winter’s nearly over, storm season (spring) is on the way and is forecast to start early.
Each morning that the Husband is on day shift, I take Mouse out for a walk, carrying a sandwich for the Husband in my pocket. He pulls up his fuel tanker at the bottom of the hill near our house on his way back into the fuel terminal to reload, and I hand the sandwich up into the cab. Today, it was drizzling a little, but the sun was also out, and there was a faint rainbow in the dark sky behind him. You can see the A and B trailers of his truck on the left, he was just pulling out when I took the photo. I told him he’d dragged it into town from out in the bush specially so I could take a photo for you 🙂
I hope you’re OK, and not missing Mindy too much.  Our animals are tied by such strong strings to our hearts, aren’t they?
Love, and hugs,
Kate
Thank you so much, Kate.  Yes, they wrap themselves into our hearts, minds, and souls. 🙂  I do believe Mindy is gone, although, I keep looking for her every day.
From my world to your heart,
Linda

The Home of the God(s)—Your, Mine and Ours—Thursday, August 15, 2019

(From Pinterest)

It’s lovely right now.  A perfect time of year.

During the day the air warms up; after a very cool night.

The sky so lovely, ever so lovely, with huge clouds sailing, and heaped here and there.

But what is the most lovely of lovelies; making me catch my breath

Is the full moon rising; peaking through the tassels of the corn

On a sweet warm night

More beautiful by far than the wingspan of an angel.

Utterly Charming!

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Chipmunks—Wednesday, August 15, 2018

We have at least ONE little chipmunk here on the farm.  Maybe there is more, but I can’t tell them apart; I only see one at a time.

I think he/she/they have come in on the large semi-load of firewood we get each year.

Thankfully he/she/they have stayed safe from the mirid of predators who also live on our farm.

But our little chipmunk(s) are wild little creatures…

Nothing like the little pet(s) who live in the Black Forest with Elaine and Bob!

Doesn’t that just make you SMILE out LOUD!!!

When God Speaks—-Wednesday, August 16, 2017

When asking to have time with the Universe I often walk upon the farm, or sit quietly amongst the flowers in the yard, and, of course, there are those ‘just before sleep’ times when communicating with a Power much higher than I helps me close down my brain and sleep.

But I have found that the answers do not come to you, if you, as the seeker do NOT have time to listen.  So I often seek out solitude — watching — for answers on the land, in the sky, or in the thoughts feeding my mind.

Three days ago Terry and I saw (the first photo) while we were up on the Rocky Point,  a slight sundog in the clouds ––a ‘slight’ cool down is coming in three days, so the old-timers say.  The weather people (for our area) are confirming that today will be slightly cooler than yesterday and the day before.

The announcement made me smile.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

It Goes on for Eternity, Then It Begins Again—–Monday, August 15, 2016

We decided to go visit our daughter, son-in-law and the grandchildren last Thursday.

It was so much fun seeing where they now live and to get and visit the schools and see the town.

Park

There is a dirt bike park across a short way…just perfect for quick rides here and there.

When we got ready to go, Linkin asked, if she could come home with us.

best-friends-forever

Lucky us we also got to have her best friend come stay also.  They have been best friends from the first grade of school

Very-Best-FriendsWhen I saw this…………..I just had to take a photo!

Friends

It was just perfect.

Best Friends for ever more…they tell me.

And I believe them!

Love,

Linda
