For One Night a Wee Bit of Wonder—Tuesday, January 28, 2020

For one night, and one night only—

just before our really nice wet snowstorm arrived

Our grandson came.

He is growing so fast now.  A man really, 18 this month.

Joy comes in so many different ways.  All we need to do is look— with gladness.

From my world to your heart.

The Simple Things Make Up Joy—-Sunday, December 30,2018

Friday night our Grandson came to visit.  He needed some help only Grandpa could provide, so for the first time in a very long time we had our fast growing up grandson ‘spending the night’.

Here he is measuring himself against Grandpa at Christmas.

One more inch to go and they are the same height!

Gosh, time flies when you become grandparents!

The Phone Call—-Sunday, February 5, 2017

Our grandson called us one evening after basketball practice and once more invited us to his ALL DAY basketball tournament in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

So early Saturday morning (3:45 a.m.) we woke up, did our chores, ate breakfast and was on the road a quarter after 5!

blades-tournament-015Since it was an all day tournament and Blade played in the first game of the day (8:00 a.m.) we knew we had to get to going.

blades-tournament-020They played three games with the last one ending at five. There were more games after that but he was done at five—they won all their games!

A job well done!

blades-tournament-016We got home late, tired but very happy to be able to watch our grandson and be with the kids and our son-in-law and daughter for the whole day!

Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

Age 10 and Age 63

Bladen and I are born in January, one week apart. We are both gaining a year this coming January!

He is a delightful little boy, but growing rapidly now.  I can see huge changes in him.  The changes really started in the fourth grade, but now he is in the fifth grade and the changes are immense. Next year will be the 6th grade and then onward to Jr. High and High School.

The years are going by.

It makes me really sad to see him growing so fast, but it is also really exciting to watch him developed into the young man he is going to be.

He is always willing to come over and help me with really hard yard work, or to help Grandpa with some sort of chore.

For instance when we were putting the roof on the house he helped scrap off the old shingles and then helped pull the nails that were left after the shingles came off.

Having grandchildren close by is full of lots of good, for them and for us!
