Be Kind—Always, Thursday, January 2, 2025

In a world where (sometimes) one can get caught up in the worry, the fear, and everyday traumas

(for no matter what—problems happen to the just and the unjust)

If we approach the problem with kindness, we may not solve it, but at least we didn’t make it worse.

Speak Slowly with Slower Thoughts, Thursday, October 3, 2024

My Daddy always said: “Think! Before you open your mouth!”

I sometimes have trouble with this—as he well knew.

The impulse was there, the thought came into my mind just as swiftly left my mouth.

It’s been a hard lesson to learn.

Think slowly, and talk your thoughts even slower.

I try to practice this concept constantly.

all the lives to be and

are full of trees and changing leaves.”– Virginia Woolf

And—-EVEN the, Thursday, September 12, 2024

Not only are the birds flocking together and moving through, (these are not the Swallows but another bird)

And the sky loudly proclaiming CHANGE

Even the snakes are restless….moving here and there, eating as much as possible, not shedding (the growing time is over), they are starting to gather to ‘den up’.

Here is a quote from good ole trusty Google: “Unlike many warm-blooded animals, snakes don’t actually hibernate in the winter. Instead, snakes go into a state known as brumation where snakes become less active and their metabolism slows down tremendously. Brumation is similar to hibernation in that snakes will sleep for long periods of time.”

They seem to be everywhere right now, heading to wherever they want to call home.

Summer Light—Autumn Light, Thursday, August 15, 2024

The light is changing.  Truly changing.

Summer is starting its migration to the other part of our globe.  The nights are creeping longer and longer; the plants and the soil are beginning to sigh.

The animals are ramping up eating and gathering…

It’s all there, even if the heat is still going strong —

Out on the Ditch Bank, Part 2, Thursday, June 13, 2024

I ran to Mom so I could go with her to the field,

We were checking the water for the billionth time of the day (not complaining–cause I like to go)\

Suddenly Dad stopped and said—“Look!”

Snake!

“What a pretty snake,” Mom said.

Dad and I agreed!  The off we went–

Golden Hour on the just planted alfalfa field!

I Love Irrigating—-Yes, I Do, Thursday, May 16, 2024

I love seeing the water flowing down the ditch.  Into the siphon tubes.  Then onto the roots of the growing plants.

The sound of the water…moving, moving feeds my soul.

Yep–There is Still Green Out There, Thursday, December 28, 2023

There is plentiful Cheat Grass for when the Cows come—yummy greens to mix with the dried fodder.

And Hollyhocks, hiding in the leaves.

Come March, though, they will be brown and dried waiting for the signal to grow again.

Green is still here—gifting our eyes!

Through a Dirty Windshield, Thursday, October 12, 2023

Off we went with Brett and Mariann on a wee trip

Over Owl Creek Pass heading into the SawTooth Mountain Range

It was a perfect day

Full of warmth, color, good friends, and

Stunning tunnels of gold.

We traveled to the Silver Jack Reservoir

Then onto Sero Summit

Our eyes full of colors

And wonderful smells for the doggie’s noses. (Boo Berry went, and their two dogs, Abbie and Shelby)

What a marvelous day for all
