(Back when we had snow)
Last night, around midnight,
(When we had snow)
The world took a breath and held it-
Then the sun came up this morning—
2023 exhaled and we became
2024!

I know it was cold—12* yesterday and colder (feel) today.
It doesn’t matter
I have stuff to do
“HURRY MOM! YOU ARE SLOWING US DOWN!”

“COME SEE MOM!!!”
“Those are leaves, TLC”, Mom exclaimed

Let’s Run through the leaves–Boo Berry
“OKAY!!!” Boo Berry replied
Oh! WAIT! I SEE SOMETHING!
“Nothing, TLC, Just leaves! But that works for me!!” Boo Berry announced.
“Time to come in”, Mom said!
Not just yet, I replied.
“Me either,” Boo Bery sat down in the thin light of the sun. “Me either”
So into the house, all by herself went Mom.

From all this to mud.
Mom says we just have to be patient
At least all the snow you see above it gone and now we just have MUD!

Mom said she was too full from yesterday and needed a wee walkabout.
So off we all went–to look at this and that
We searched for mice, and grasshoppers, and walked here and there.
Then it was home again, home again, home again.
Walkabouts are fun! Sometimes I don’t even have to walk.

Mom and I have been helping Dad
For some strange reason, some of the wires on the gate were cut—so Dad had to fix them.
Then some wires on the fence next to the gate were cut—so Dad fixed them.
Then we hung a new gate! Sure is nice.
When we all drove by the pastures and looked them over—Nice! Dad proclaimed
Then it was home again after a good day’s work.

I did my part also. Pats always make the day go better for everyone.

Like the news on the lawn
Or out on the road
If she just knew
Or…even in her garden

But Mom doesn’t understand.

We all went for a walk, Mom, Boo, and me—-TLC
And we saw a RAINBOW!!!
Mom was thrilled,
Boo and I didn’t really care, but it made Mom happy so we were happy!

YAY! THE HEAT IS GONE! No more panting and panting and panting.
No more hiding in the shade and having to come inside to cool down!
