The Adventures of Boomer on Friday— We All Walk About, Mindy–Friday, October 11, 2019

Mom, Boomer and I went for a walkabout.

That means we walked to the cross over ditch. Mom won’t go much further because she thinks I will get lost on the farm. Then we walked down the long lane to the county road; then home, again, home, again, we trod.

Out by the grain bin, we saw a FOX! Boomer ran up to say “Hi!” but the fox ran off.

Fast! Faster than an old/ancient beagle can run. Of course, Mom was yelling at Boomer to “COME HERE! Boomer, come back”!

The fox could have run off because of Mom and her loud voice. Don’t ya think?

Then when we went for a walk down the long, long lane to the road, Mom made all of us turn around and RUN back toward the house as fast as possible.

Mom didn’t yell this time.

She just turned around and RAN!

After all that excitement, Mom picked me up, opened the back door, told Boomer to get in the house and that was it.

Run over!

Walk over!

Finished!

Hello! It’s Me, Mindy-Lou, Min-Min, Kit-Cat Brown. Today is MY day to visit with you!

First off…we have a BIG GIANT BUCK DEER hanging out in the yard. HE IS HUGE!

I make sure I’m not close to him and those very sharp looking hooves.

I also stay away from the hens. They have sharp beaks and like to stab them at me if I get too close.

I do lots of checking things out around the farm; mostly to find and eat mice.

When I get one, I always take it to Mom and show her. I get lots of pettings when I do.

I sleep with Mom at night. I curl up right by Mom and get really warm. Sure, feels good. Mom pets me off and on during the night. I like that so I purr for Mom.

But whenever I can I try to stay with Dad…

OH!

WAIT!

GOTTA GO!

There goes, Dad!

AHHHHHHH!

The Adventures of Boomer on Friday— The Things I Do, by Mindy the Cat—Friday, September 13, 2019

Hello! It’s Me, Mindy-Lou, Min-Min, Kit-Cat Brown. Boomer is taking a rest today so; I get to talk!

My days are Full! Full! FULL!

Often times throughout the day I go out to the haystack yard and check to see if there are any mice out there I can catch and eat!

(Eating is the best part of catching, don’t ya, know!)

Then I prowl around in Mom’s gardens…

sometimes I chase birds, that ALWAYS get me scolded.

I like to work with Dad in his shops—so, of course,

I have to walk out to the shops to see if Dad is out there.

Lately, it has been getting COLD at night. Usually, Mom invites me in, but during the warm times I like to stay out all night, then come inside and sleep most of the morning.

If I can’t get Mom to let me in the dark of the night,

(when I am good and ready—not when Mom asks me to come in), I have to walk around to the room we sleep in and YOWL REALLY LOUD!

I do that until Mom comes outside and hollers for me. Then I run as fast as my kitty legs can take me into the house.

Last night Mom and I went for a long walk to see the moon. Boomer didn’t want to go, he just looked at Mom, closed his eyes and slept in the house while we were gone.
