It Took Flight, Much to Our Surprise — Monday, March 29, 2021

Terry and I were stunned, to say the least.  I think you might be surprised, also

Here is the shed…that little white building with the door open, right behind the horse trailer

There was a slight breeze…just enough to ruffled the blue plastic

Suddenly the shed took flight

Lifting up off the ground and over the fence

Over the fence!  For Sure!  And Up, UP, into the sky

Dust from the lift-off swirling in a column as the shed flew even higher

If you could see, the shed is above the trees at this point

Then it started to come down

Where it landed!

We tried to remove it, but it’s way too heavy and way too high; we will have to dismantle it piece by piece in the next day or two.

Just seeing this whole thing occur was shocking. A tad amazing!  And rather crazy all at once.

I Went Looking for Spring — Sunday, March 28, 2021

Growth and change are coming.  It’s out there in the different hues of the light

The buds of new leaves, showcasing last years wee little bird nests

A bit of green showing up along the ditch banks and in the horse pastures

Not to mention the daily use of the tractors 🙂

Different tractors for different needs 🙂

Even though we still are using the firewood, the need to do so becomes less and less as we move closer to April

And there.  THERE!!! The wee little crocus —why!  They are BLOOMING!!!

Spring is truly here!

They Swoop, and Sing, and Dart Here and There — Thursday, March 25, 2021

The last of the Sandhill Cranes left us a day or so ago. Their calls loud and trilling in the air

A Harrier Hawk screams a loud and piercing whistle riding the airwaves in the sky

Oft-Times Smooth and silent

And THEN there is TONTO.  Hospitality is NOT his middle name. 🙂

(Although, he is very pretty.)

The Sun Dropped, the Work Went On—Wednesday, March 24, 2021

The afternoon breeze picked up

Bringing in a winter storm,

The wind pushed steadily

Terry says he gives Thanks often

For a cab on the tractor, with a heater, this time of year.

🙂

To My Delight — Monday, March 22, 2021

It was very windy Saturday afternoon, late

When on a wee walk-about I saw this delightful creature

He turned and looked at me with surprise in his eye.

I caught his face just before he flew away.

Those Who Travel in the Half World — Sunday, March 21, 2021

Caught on the game cam

As bold as you please

Right by the barn.

This is exactly why Mindy has to stay inside at night.

Although, she sometimes doesn’t want to.

Roll around, bite,

DESTROY PAPER!

Paper is ever so much fun!

Oh! Look! ELEPHANT!

Grab Elephant and take into BOX!

Those Things Which Twinkle in the Sky — Thursday, March 18, 2021

Besides stars

My heart feels like the birds

Light up the sky

in a very bright and luminous way. 🙂

There are even those birds (Pheasants) that exploded from the earth into the sky like a thunderclap

These marvelous birds, the Sandhill Cranes, take to the heavens

With loud calls and heavy swooshing of their wings.

These silly girls, do try to lift their wings and fly

They are pretty much as earth-bound as you and I.

Although, when this (Tonto) comes running at you…I can guarantee you wish YOU could fly. 🙂

The hawks’ shadows glided silent and deadly over the earth, their wings as quiet as their shadows.

Flight, the pureness of nature’s glitter.
