A Shinning Simplicity — Tuesday, March 21, 2023

The sun has been seen so rarely all this late fall, winter, and now early spring

That when we do have it we are over-wrought with

Immense joy.

I would like to hang onto the joy of the sun.  Instead, we have the diaphanous sheen of pearly grey.

Sigh.

Listening to the Evening Sky — Monday, March 21, 2022

The sky bright with the joy

The big birds (Canadian geese and the Sandhill Cranes)

Uncomplicated happiness of pure delight

Gathering and sorting themselves into long pointed arrows

Heading home again toward Spring and Summer and new little chicks.

Jubilation, determination, happiness, all filtering down to us…here on the earth.

Those Who Travel in the Half World — Sunday, March 21, 2021

Caught on the game cam

As bold as you please

Right by the barn.

This is exactly why Mindy has to stay inside at night.

Although, she sometimes doesn’t want to.

Watching the Edge of the Mountains—-Thursday, March 21, 2019

Boomer and I went for our wee evening walk, coming home just in time to see the Worm Moon starting to rise over the Paonia Mountains

I don’t usually mark my photos, allowing any and all of you to copy and use as long as you give me credit,

But I felt these were exceptional.

You are still welcome to use them

The sight was wonderful; fully charged with the golden glow of the Worm Moon of March

The sky was just darkening

The rising moon’s light lifting into the world

So huge and large

I stood mesmerized!

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Heaven is on the Earth in the Eyes of Animals—-Wednesday, March 21, 2018

Lady is changing by leaps and bounds.  She allows the halter to be put on her face, and IF we don’t come at her face, or try to pet her face in anyway shape or form (she had bloody whip lashes on her face when Shannon got her —and old scars on her rear) she is welcoming to our hands

This is a friend’s little kitty….she is very affectionate and loves hanging right by your feet, joyfully purring the whole time.

Then there is that silly, full of personality, Willow, one of Shannon’s cats…he has started smelling like dried alfalfa for some reason 🙂

Animals…they are such an added bonus to our lives.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Moonlight on Water—Tuesday, March 21, 2017

(This is an old photo, but one I loved so thought I would share it again 🙂 )

George, a long-time blog friend, sent me a gift of a lifetime.

A moonbow! He and his dearly beloved wife, Betsy had gone to Cumberland Falls State Park in Kentucky for his birthday.  Heading out on a clear moonlight night they went to the falls to see if they could see a MoonBow in the water. You can read about their experience here.

And here is Betsy’s wonderful blog.

What an amazing gift!!!  There they were with the moon making a path stretching all along the water, shadows of the night along the trees and bushes, the mist from the falls cold around their feet, the silence that isn’t silence for the thundering of the fall…and then

The moonlight shimmering all along the mist of the water!

Wow!  Thank you, George!

From my world to your heart,

Linda

A Time of Contentment—Monday, March 21, 2016

ABYesterday was the first day of Spring.  The first day that the daylight hours are longer than the night time hours.

ApricotMy beloved Maternal Grandmother…used to say that when spring time starts the world lies in a balance between dark and light.

Rolling-1 (Terry is rolling down the plowed fields today)

SpringCall me strange, but I swear I can feel the earth shifting and stirring beneath my  feet as the air changes.DeerThe change hums in my blood, the blood of the plants and the animals.  Bringing contentment and joy.WaitingI just achieved my 9th year of blogging on Sunday.  9 years of being friends with you.

Thank you everyone!

Happy Spring!
