The Day Begins—-Monday, November 20, 2023

We get up now BEFORE the sun scatters our dreams

With the time change the sun is different upon waking.  But farmers, being farmers (and ranchers)  always work from the grey part of day to the grey part of night.

Seeing the sun wake up and rise after we start is a rather cool treat!

Hushed Misty Raindrops — Sunday, November 19, 2023

We woke up Thursday morning to a slightly damp world.

The moisture was much appreciated!  It didn’t last long or really get things overly wet.

Still, it was very nice.  By noon the wind had set the clouds to dancing across the land, drying up all the tiny misty raindrops.

All in all, it was rather refreshing!

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-Helping Dad, Friday, November 17, 2023

Mom and I have been helping Dad

For some strange reason, some of the wires on the gate were cut—so Dad had to fix them.

Then some wires on the fence next to the gate were cut—so Dad fixed them.

Then we hung a new gate!  Sure is nice.

When we all drove by the pastures and looked them over—Nice! Dad proclaimed

Then it was home again after a good day’s work.

Boo Berry

I did my part also.  Pats always make the day go better for everyone.

The Hushed Whispers of Falling Leaves — Thursday, November 16, 2023

If I stand really still — no working, no raking, no moving here and thereThe falling leaves brush softly against me.

I love it!

There in the Naked and Bare Branches of the Pear Tree —-Wednesday, November 15, 2023

I was raking leaves, sticks, and other debris when I looked up

And saw (hanging very securely) in the swaying limbs of my Thankful tree

A wasp home—I left it there.  Letting the pear tree soothe the little wasps to sleep for the winter—-waiting warm and snug; until the scent of green leaves and tree bark awaken these small creatures for another busy year.

We are in Need—Tuesday, November 14, 2023

We are in need of a brief shower.  Something like this one so long ago–the shower doesn’t have to be long; brief is fine.

Sigh!

Gone are the Soft Sunsets — Monday, November 13, 2023

Gone are the soft sunsets of winter (although, they are lurking just around the corner)

The drama of the Summer sun sliding over the edge of the earth,

Gone are the delightful gentle spring sunsets

For now, we have the roar of the brilliant orange/red sun setting in Autumn.

Always, beautiful!  Always

The Love of Equines!— Sunday, November 12, 2023

There is nothing like the love of the equines!  Well, I suppose those of us who have them know they are much like big dogs.  Shannon says the horses are like dogs and the mule is like a cat.  If you remember that and treat them accordingly they will always be your friend and work hard for you!

T’Ata in the foreground, Glory Bee with the white face, and LaVerne with the long ears.

Terry says: “If you want to be poor and stay poor, own a horse or two or three”.  🙂

Yes, they are expensive, but, oh, well.

Singing the Song of Goodbye —Thursday, November 9, 2023

The leaves whisper to us as they gently float through the sky

Singing a sweet song of goodbye

We are through for the year…this is the time to sleep the trees respond…

We are preparing for that ageless power of winter—a time of rest

From my world to your heart,

Linda
