Brilliant Shards of Glowing Light — Thursday, May 21, 2020

I must announce—-BOOMER IS TRULY BETTER!!!  YAY!  He slept well, he is breathing much, much better.  His nose is the same equal size on both sides and he LOVES HIS FOOD!

Then for the very first time in a very long time, he wanted to GO irrigate!

The wind was terribly strong, but he still wanted me to put him up on the four-wheeler—so, of course, I couldn’t turn him down. 🙂

Then on my FaceBook page, another wonderous gift appeared

“I know you love rainbows.” Cheri Schwartz-Harder wrote.  “I had to send you this one from my backyard yesterday.
We had an epic 1 1/2 inches of rain in just a few hours and a thunderstorm that was awesome. Then right before sunset, looking East, this appeared. ❤️”

There is was a flaming magical rainbow over their ranch— filling the whole sky!

Music in the form of a billion little drops of light!

Thank you, ever so much, each and every one of you for caring and being there.

My heart is full.

Your friend,

Linda

The Adventures of Boomer on Friday—Thirteen Years! WOW! — Friday, March 20, 2020

Mom says I get to tell you it is HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TIME!!!

Thirteen Years Mom has been blogging about our lives on our farm on the western slope of Colorado

WOW! Thirteen Years!

Although, I must admit…the UPS truck is much more interesting!

Chapter Ten

“Well, as you can see, Mindy,” I said, pushing Mindy behind me a little, “dark on the farm is way different than dark in the farmyard.”

“MEOW!!!” Mindy sobbed. “Let’s go home, Boomer.  I want to go inside and lay on Dad’s legs while he watches TV and gets lots of pets.  It’s SCARY out here.”

Just then we heard HOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO. Mindy jumped three feet in the air and yeowel!  “OWL! We have to RUN!”

Mindy started to fling herself out onto the farm road when I quickly put my front left paw down on her back. “NO! Stay right here!” I bayed.

“STAY!”

“I hear an owl, Boomer.  I have to hide, I have to get to the house, I have to get OUT OF HERE!  An Owl tried to get me once, but I got away.  That is why I have my whole right side missing on my mouth. OWL!!!”

Mindy squirmed and wiggled under my paw. Thankfully I had her smashed flat so she couldn’t get those wicked claws up and get my leg.

“I Know, Mindy! I know.  But you are safe right here with me.  You start running crazy and the owl will chase you on very silent wings, swoop down and your gone—up into the sky, then over to their nest where the little owl chicks live.”

Mindy looked at me with terror in her eyes.

“Stay right here, right next to me, and I will get you home.”

Mindy stopped wiggling and sighed.  “Okay, Boomer, my life is in your hands.

“Good.  I can protect you from pretty much everything but a coyote.  If we run into a coyote or three you run as fast as you can for home.  I try to lead them away from you.  But until, or if that time comes, you stick right by me.”

With that Mindy and I started walking.  We have a long way to go, but I feel pretty sure I could get us home.  We have the weeds along the ditch bank to hide in and if we are super lucky, we can crawl into some of the equipment (if we make it that far).

It was about that time, while we were walking next to the ditch, not on the road, but close to it:

Freddy Fox zoomed right in front of us!

The Way to Live Your Life—-Thursday, March 22, 2018

 “Instructions for living a life.

Pay attention.

Be astonished.

Tell about it.”

― Mary Oliver

The grass is starting to green…that is a huge joy to me.  Yes, it means work, weeds, watering and other types of ‘stuff’, but it also means sunshine, rain, and (for me) just plain happiness!

Mindy Min-Min Lou is delighted I finally brought out the summer furniture.  Her most favorite spot in all the world to relax—they even beat a warm car hood in the winter.

Then, for Mindy, there is the rolling in the dry dirt, dust  bath.  Right up there with laying on your back, tummy up soaking in the sun—she is such an odd little cat

Walks with Mom always mean…Mindy walks on the gated pipe…”Why not?” she asks.  “I never fall off.”

As for Boomer Beaglie Brown…just being with Mom is all he wants.

Wonder, just look through the eyes of a child or an animal…we can see the world in fresh new ways.

From my heart to your world,

Linda
