The Adventures of TLC Cai-Cai and Boo Berry —SCATTER— Chapter 12, Friday, October 14, 2022

“I want in—Don’t you TLC Cai-Cai?”

“Yeah.”

“I want in now!”

“Well, I think you are going to have to wait.” TLC Cai-Cai replied with all the wisdom of a cat.

“Why?  Where is Mom? Where is Dad?”

“Let me look” TLC Cai-Cai responded.  “Inside. Dad is inside.”

“I WANT IN NOW———HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

“Oh, hush! Mom is out here somewhere.  Dad is inside.  He doesn’t listen when you cry.”

BAM!

“WOW! What was THAT?!” Mom asked as she came around the corner with her wheelbarrow.

Suddenly Dad was at the back door.

“WHAT was THAT?” We all asked Dad.

“It sounded like a gun!” Mom exclaimed.

“It was—Dove season has begun. And our new neighbors are sighting in their guns.” Dad explained.

BAM!

“Oh, geez, Get in the house quick, Fur Kids…. guns and little animals don’t mix AT ALL!”

Mom opened the door.

Grass Edged in Gold — Tuesday, October 11, 2022

As I stood watching the long grasses in the pasture (the Upper End)

The sun broke through the west’s low-lying clouds, lighting up a unique edge on a stem of grass!

Thank Heavens for cameras, otherwise, this beautiful experience would only be a memory.

From my world to your heart,

Breath-Taking —- Sunday, October 9, 2022

Jason, who delivered us all the wood,

Loves Cowboy Candy—hot sweet pickled peppers.

So — I made him a batch!

Mom and I!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHH!

That’s how I like it.

Mom and I.

Although, I do like The cat!

And I do like being

WITH MOM WHEN I AM OUTSIDE!

I don’t like outside

If Mom is Inside and

I am outside.

If something HUGE

shows up

If You Can’t Lick ‘Em, Join ‘Em , Thursday, October 6, 2022

Since dry dirt is a memory right now

I thought to myself—the rain has left us an amazing

Heartbeat of its own

Well, actually a bazillion heartbeats

A heartbeat of such beauty it surprises me into awe and wonder.

In the Middle of the Rain — Tuesday, October 4, 2022

It’s been raining for four days here. Not just sprinkles but RAIN

The good and the bad of rain.

Mushrooms are sprouting where none have grown before 🙂

Autumn has arrived.  (The above photos are from my archives —except for the mushroom 🙂  It’s really too wet to get out on the farm right now

Jason brought in our firewood from the hills. Enough for He and Shannon and Terry and I and Cliff and Kimberly!

Hey, Winter—we are getting super prepared!

Just say’n 🙂

Weather—and the Hay is Down, Monday, October 3, 2022

Wet cat

“It’s wet out there Mom!”

“Yes, Mom, WET!!!”

Sigh!

We just needed a couple more days of drying to get the hay in.

Farming.  Always a risk, where the weather is concerned.

The Adventures of TLC Cai-Cai and Boo Berry —SCATTER— Chapter 10, Friday, September 30, 2022

I was out and about just enjoying myself

Doing this and that

The dog, our dog—Boo Berry Betty—had come out

Then had gone back in.

I was getting a tad bored

So, I headed to the dirt pile

This is a big pile of dirt Dad keeps for

Repairing the roads, and ditch banks

And stuff like that

So anyway, Out I went

It was warm and sunny

I decided Mouse would taste good

Right about now.

When

SUDDENLY I SAW

DANGER

The only thing left for me to do

WAS

SCATTER!

The Third Cutting —Summer is Winding Down, Thursday, September 29, 2022

The third cutting is accomplished.  All three fields are now “down” drying.

Depending on the weather, the next step will be baling and hauling it in and getting it sold. (Although, some of it is already sold!  🙂  Thankfully)

A Trip to Silverton, Colorado with our Car Club —- Wednesday, September 28, 2022

Our car club, the Delta Street Rodders took a fun cruise to Silverton, Colorado.

Jim and Dianna Muller lead the way 🙂

We had eight fancy collectible cars (and one truck)

Gary and Connie with their 1948 Willis Overland Jeepster

We took a wee road break just outside of Ouray, Colorado as we started up the Million Dollar highway

The Colors were OUTSTANDING!!!

Food at the Thee Pitts Again was YUMMY!

The train had come in when we got there

What a fun job for people living close to the station

in Durango!

We ate, shopped,

and did all the tourist stuff 🙂

Then it was time to head home.

(This is Christ of the Mines in Silverton, Colorado)

It was a perfectly wonderful day!
