Autumn Light, Wednesday, October 30, 2024

“Autumn spun in twilight’s hour,

Golden leaves glowing,

her soul empowered.”—Angie Weiland-Crosby

Although this wasn’t taken in the evening, I had walked outside in the morning to gather up more firewood; looking toward the west.

There was the early morning sunlight lighting up the Roubidoux Canyon.  (It lies a wee bit beyond the edge of our farm.)

Glorious!

I Missed the Comet :( , Wednesday, October 23, 2024

Every  evening I would check for the comet

…but only clouds filled the sky.  I missed anything and everything going on,

Once in a while the clouds would thin and I could see the moon.  But the moon always had a moisture ring around it so the hope for rain persisted.

We got mist and sprinkles and nothing more.

At least it got the surface wet.

Our Summer Has Grown Old, Autumn is Mid-Aged, —- Wednesday, October 16, 2024

The wooly worms are moving across the land.

If I look at this right there is more black than brown…..means it will be a  harsh winter.

Live Doppler 13 Weather Blog caterpillars predict winter ...

Time to get everything winterized.

While Autumn is still in the middle of its season..

What to Do When the Ditches Go Dry, Thursday, October 10, 2024

Terry is putting in transmission pipes in the mud transmission ditches.

One at a time until we get the whole ditch in pipe and covered up.  Sure, will make managing weeds a lot easier.

Farming—-there is always, always something to do.

Yes, there is.

Time, Throbbing, Ticking, Marching On — Wednesday, September 11, 2024

The birds are not the only sign of the Summer transitioning toward winter

The sky will randomly give us a taste of Winter’s colors and shades

Although winter’s colors will be much paler they are still the color of winter;

Our youngest daughter, Misty’s, shirt reflects the Autumn sky.

Light is another sign of transition —Summer to Autumn, then on to Winter- that cold, wet, dark time.

But we won’t dwell on the last season, instead, we will absorb and cherish this glowing time of the year—AUTUMN!

I Found a Feather — Pheasant to be Exact, Thursday, September 5, 2024

A quick Google search says:

Finding feathers is a message that your angels are nearby, waiting to help you.
How grateful I am!  (For the feather, for pheasant, and for my angels)

Out on the Ditch Bank, Part 1, Wednesday, June 12, 2024

Boo Berry and I were zipping along —following behind Terry — off to check and change the water (again)

When I saw these two little siblings trying to catch up with their Momma

They were so cute (and so terrified of me) that I just had to stop and take a photo of them.

Just darling!!!

After our quick photo shoot, we drove around them — as they watched us closely.  The second they felt safe enough they scurried after Mom who must have been in the hay field waiting.

What a joyful gift they were to me!

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Feets—and Wings—-, Wednesday, December 20, 2023

Feets—so cute

Feets and wings 🙂  Gotta love ’em

The world is suspended in flight…just for my blog 🙂

(And yes I know feet is the correct spelling, my son, as a toddler, always said feets.  And I love it!)

I Wonder, Wednesday, October 18, 2023

I wonder what it would be like to be inside a cloud

Or even like riding on a cloud—–like Elijah (Elijah the Peacemaker - A Still Small Voice)

Is it pleasant, with a diffused light, or exciting and vibrant like we see from Earth?

Ah! Yes!  I do wonder.

This Poor Fox, Wednesday, July 12, 2023

I saw this fox at the Upper End the other day.  It looks rather ill, I think.  See that knot by its eye?  Who knows what it is—tick, cheatgrass seed, tumor?

There looks like something wrong by the shoulder too.  Maybe how it’s standing, but something just isn’t right with this poor creature.

I’ll never know.

It quickly turned and ran the moment it saw me.
