The Gathering —- Monday, August 29, 2022

It’s with great sadness I see the swallows are starting to gather

This will go on for several days.  The coming together and gathering.

Then, when the newly hatched are strong enough.  They will lift up as one.

And leave.

I have only seen them lift off and leave once in my life.

It was unique and precious and very exhilarating.

What a fragile gift our birds are to us.

Contrast —- Sunday, August 28, 2022

The Contrast of Evening Sun on showers in the canyons

The very strong line of shadow and light

Night rising up on the land–defining the last light in the sky

Big fat rain clouds—- sunlight through the old apricot tree

Sunrise dressing the earth with Morning

Dusk filled with brilliance

Even the wind, in all its amazing power; lifting the soil into the air— gifts us with a refreshing of sorts.

Each and every moment of our full 24-hour day gives us so much—so many things of contrast, so many types of varying gifts they are too numerous to count.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

The Adventures of TLC Cai-Cai and Boo Berry —SCATTER— Chapter Five, Friday, August 26, 2022

I know, I know!  You think Boo Berry Betty and I, Yours Truly, TLC Cai-Cai are the only ones who can make the hens scatter!

Well, I’m here to tell you—Mom can too.  (Sometimes, not often, but, yes, sometimes.)

And the big, loud, HUGE machines can make the hens squawk and run.

BUT—-

Those hens have a few tricks in their feathers, let me tell you.

For one thing—NEVER! EVER! Chase Skitter Bug.  EVER!!  She has a very pointy, sharp beak.  Just say’n.

And—Skitter is very much in charge of her flock and her BIRD SEED!

See Mom scatters bird seed out by the hen run so the birds will stay out of the hen house; the birds like to eat the chicken feed.

So Mom puts bird seed or hen scratch outside the run for the birds.

Now, if Skitter Bug sees the birds pecking around on the food on the ground—

Well, just let me say—

Skitter knows how to make those little birds

SCATTER!

The Great Spirit of Our Earth — Wednesday, August 24, 2022

While the wars and manipulations of men

Fill the air with restless, convulsing fear and anger

Our quiet daily lives

(BIG GRASSHOPPER)

Keep steadily onward

The earth sends out old familiar energy

Even bringing forth flowers in the late Summer usually seen only in Spring

The Sun, the Rain, and the clouds sing overhead

The air is rich with the scents of earth, trees, flowers, and green weeds

All these things herded together soothe our souls.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Crystals Glittering in the Sky — Monday, August 22, 2022

It’s been raining all around us

Which is okay

The peaceful and beautiful showers gift us with Rainbows!

Of which, the Earth repays in hearts!

Feeling Grateful — Sunday, August 21, 2022

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for your senses to grow sharper”–W.B. Yeats

For a sky filled with

The very bright promise from the Heavens

An invigorating nip of Hope in the air

Summer is Flying By —- Thursday, August 18, 2022

May be an image of text that says 'I feel like a time traveler: June, July, August. Summer dissolves in my mouth and I can't remember what it tasted like. Zoe Lianne Poy&veryotion Every amotion'

O! How fast it seems

This is a butterfly–their lives go ever so quickly—so who am I to complain?

Ah…true. Not complaining–

Just a tad sad at the quickness of the passing of my favorite time of year

(Although, I must admit the over-the-top heat has just about ‘dun me in)

The earth is so hot when you are on the ground

The heat hits you in the face!

Still, I would prefer Summer to stay

A little while longer.

(Just a tad bit cooler)

For late Summer to linger

Then late Autumn to linger until Thanksgiving.

Giving all of us more days of

That slow, easy feeling — Summer brings to our souls.

Linda
