Stamped Upon the Heart and Brain—Thursday, August 13, 2015

xSometimes in the evening (after irrigation is done) we sit, Terry and I, upon the outside chairs.

Song-1

If we get in Before the sunsets.  Last night was one of those nights.

Song-2

We relaxed and let the evening take over…the little swallow family was busy feeding the tiny mouths for the long, long rest until morning.

The hummingbirds zoomed by us, filling up for their night, Boomer lay on my feet and Sam-Sam our outside kitty sat on Terry’s lap purring.  In the bathroom window, Monkey the house cat (because she eats birds) lay stretched out longing to be outside with us.  But birds come first on our farm.

Song-3

It was one of those moments when you are aware of your own heartbeat.  A watching.  A space in time, which stamps itself upon your heart, brain and soul. A moment instantly recalled in every detail for the rest of your life.

The Magic Light of Mingled Dusk and Sun Fire—Wednesday, August 12, 2015

;Last night we loaded Boomer into the back of the pick-up and headed toward Olathe, Colorado.

The evening ride was a brief enchantment from the daily activities.

124

We were driving toward a storm; rain chutes reflecting the setting suns’ rays.

Then the dark clouds washed over us, pushed along by strong winds

121 As we drew closer to our destination HOPE sprung across the heavens in brilliant 122shades of a massive rainbow.

125

Stopping we put Boomer in the front with us, for giant drops of rains were starting to descend.  (He was one very glad dog to be sitting on my lap, nose stuck out the rolled down window.  A huge doggie smile upon his face.)

The drive home was in the middle of the storm, lightening, thunder and at times rain coming so hard and fast we couldn’t see the road. SunlightThis morning the air is moving gently over us, hinting at the first cool touches of late September.

Beyond the Tips of Silver Wings—Monday, August 10, 2015

Early, early Sunday morning we received a phone call from a friend asking us to come fly with him.

GoNot being people who could turn down and invitation of such wonderful magnitude… we were off!

COnfluence-LaeThere (just above the wing tip),  was Confluence Lake, in our small town of Delta, Colorado. You can also see the  Gunnison River flowing toward Grand Junction, Colorado,  and two large fields of sunflowers on the top of lower California Mesa.

GMWe flew above the North Fork Delta County,  and then he took us over Grand Mesa.

BCAs time went on we traveled over the Book Cliffs (where wild horses roam) just above the city of Grand Junction, Colorado.

UncompahgreThen over the rugged and beautiful Uncompahgre Plateau (Un-come-pah-gray, with the accent on the pah)

Us-2The smoke from all the fires made the air a little hazy, but suddenly we were flying over our farm.

Coming-inWhat a joy!  What an amazing adventure and a delightful gift!

Sunday in the air!
