A Sweet, Quiet Melody — Monday, July 26, 2021

Hello!

A wee, but perfect, little snack bar

OH!  Sharing with a Robin

Here, try this little bit I plucked out of the tray just for you—something light, bright, and oh, so sweet. 🙂

The Sound of Corn —Sunday, 25, 2021

The corn is tasselling

The baby ears are forming

Summer, laughing softly, as time slowly slips toward Fall.

The song of Corn,

From my world to your heart,

Linda

The Adventures of Mindy on Friday—-Farm Life Series 3, The Big, Noisy Stuff, Friday, July 23, 2021

Another thing you need to pay attention to is the BIG, LOUD, STUFF!

Like the tractors

Corn choppers

Hay Swather

The baler

Old trucks

Mom and Dad’s four-wheelers,

The pick-ups

Mom’s Car

The Lawnmower,

All those things can KILL you!  Smash you flatter than a smashed miller.

When you hear one start-up or

one coming into the farmyard

RUN!

Your life depends on it!

Mindy Lou-Sue, or as Mom calls me, Min-Min

The Old Gods Live Here and There and Everywhere — Thursday, July 22, 2021

Sometimes I think to myself, that the Old Gods

Those awe-inspiring Gods of long-long-long ago

Are still here among us

Only we have different names for them now. (Like nature, wind, rain, etc.)

They are still here, flying with the birds in the air

Singing to our hearts and minds and souls in the morning

And in the evening.

They are in the sunlight,

And glittering off the tiny wings of Humming Birds

They gather in the most unlikely of places

They bring together the edges

Lifting up our hearts

When our hearts have tripped, or fallen slightly, or leaned a little too far here or there

Then the old Gods rebalance everything, even us.

That Brutal World We Live In — Wednesday, July 21, 2021

While out-and-about

I saw a coyote (from a distance) hanging out where the swather had been sitting and where the squirrels were playing.

He/she was sporting the Summer-fur look.

POUNCE!

A quick dash off.

Sigh!

I drove the four-wheeler over to the spot, to save the rest of the surry of squirrels, at least for a short while.

WOW! A Gift! —–Tuesday, July 20, 2021

This is so exciting!

A family of squirrels fell in love with the swather.

Their very own playground (for a spell, at least).

Third Field — Monday, July 19, 2021

Terry cut the third field of alfalfa…

Now we wait for it to dry.

Even though this field is just cut…it has been sold.

Within the Restless Clouds—Sunday, July 18, 2021

Sometimes the unique occurs…Marianne from Northview Diary sent me this:

Hi Linda,
Actually every time I see a rainbow or a sundog I think of you. This little cutie was contained within a cloud, something I had never seen before.
Take care,
Marianne

A gift from the sky!
a Rainbow cloud to cloud is very new to me and a huge delight to see.
Thank you ever so much, Marianne!
Just perfect to share this gift from New York with each one of you.
From my world to your heart,
Linda

The Adventures of TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-I’m a Big Kid Now, Friday, July 16, 2021

I like to go for rides! In the Pick-Up with Mom and Dad.

I get to see lots and lots of stuff.  I like learning about STUFF!

Mom makes me wear my harness; as soon as she puts it on, I KNOW!  WHEEEEE! Off we get to go!

I don’t whine or meow or anything.  When I get tired, I curl up on Mom’s lap and sleep.

I have, also, figured out MICE!  I watched Mindy bring Mice to Mom and get lots and lots of pets for bringing Mom mice. So I got Mom a mouse also.

That Mouse was LOTS of FUN!  I played with it here and there and, well, gosh everywhere.

No, I didn’t eat it.  I only eat cereal and yummy stuff in a can.  The eating mouse thing, Mindy does I just don’t get.

Anyway…I AM A BIG KID NOW!

We had Rain, Softly Gentle Rain — Thursday, July 15, 2021

Even though we have hay down (sigh)

The gift of rain blessed our part of the world.

A simple necessity, and a not so small joy!
