One of the Chambers of My Heart—-Wednesday, February 15, 2017

catch

We went to another of Blade’s basketball games.  Only one more to go and his Freshman year of basketball is over; a very successful year.

We are so lucky they live closer now.  Terry and I really, really like the school district that our son-in-law works for.  Their whole approach to education is just outstanding!

made-itThe girls are thriving!  Our son-in-law is thriving, our daughter is thriving, and our grandson is thriving.  A mother/grandmother and dad/grandpa can not ask for more. 🙂

drivingHe is now old enough to drive.

Gosh, they are so close; yet so far away …. a whole heart away.

Our love for these darling grandchildren bends me under the weight of my heart.

I’m sure each one of you understand this feeling—this feeling of love toward each of your children and grandchildren.

What a joy!

From my world to your heart,

Linda

It Feels Like Spring—-February 9, 2017

coming-backIt’s warm enough I can walk at night without a jacket, although I don’t stay out long.  A brisk little walk.

night-walk-terryTerry thinks I’m silly; he bundles up.  But I run hot so it’s not too bad for me.

The days are warm…it was 67* yesterday (19.44 c).  Too warm for a fire in the woodstove.

clouds-002The sky is stunning

snow-beagleThe snow in the canal all gone…the above is just a memory.

inOnce more we made the hour and a half drive to Parachute, Colorado to watch Blade play.  He made some of the winning points.

bladenThey won!!!

Then we drove back home getting in around 8 at night.  Tired but happy!

Two more games to go…we will be there, Terry told Blade.  Blade replied, “Good.”

He is so cute…when he sees us walk in…even, if he is warming up, he always, always gives us a wave.  15 years old and still likes having his grandparents hanging around.

Of course his grandparents LIKE to hang around.  🙂

Sometimes You Just Gotta—Sunday, November 8, 2015

Sometimes you wake up and go…”I’m tired of the same-o-same-o.  We need to do SOMETHING different!”

Friday was a day like that for Terry and I.

JI’ve been painting in our house for the last several weeks…bathroom, bedrooms, front and back porch; plus all the other things we have been getting done in preparation for the corn harvest. Loading up hay for hay customers, winterizing both yards and pumps and well, the list just goes on an on.

Terry looked at me and asked, “Well, what do you want to do?  Got any ideas?”

Yes I did!  I have been missing Bladen.  It was many weeks ago we saw him.  He didn’t come for Halloween, because of basketball games that weekend. (And, of course OTHER more interesting things 8th grade boys like to do.)

So we called Misty and asked if we could come up for Blade’s game with Baggs Wyoming.  It would be a fast trip as there were hay customers coming the first thing Saturday morning, but we wanted to see everyone for a couple of hours and watch Blade play.

She told us to come on up, but don’t tell the kids…just drive in an surprise them!

So we did!

Blade-2

Three hours up, a few hours there, then three hours back.  It was a nice break!  Even nicer to get to watch Blade play.

Blade-1Breaks…they are very good in the scheme of things…seeing family and grandkids…priceless!

Your friend,

Linda
