Friends, Although, Not Kin—-Wednesday, March 28, 2018

Lady has a new forever friend.  She is a Quarter Horse and only four years old

Her Name is Adobe Skipun Te Ata—(how you say it is —-well, your guess is as good as mine…the kids call her T.  I try and say Te at a.)

After a little tiny skirmish, where Lady kicked TeAta and TeAta turned around a whopped Lady…

They have become friends!   TaAta is the boss and Lady is letting her.  Lady let Romeo be the boss also.   She is a follower….which is good.  Two lead equines would Not be a good thing.

Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

Linda

A Marvelous Journey—-Monday, October 30, 2017

“A poet, a weaver of dreams, a man who makes glory from nothing and dazzles you with its making”.— Mary Stewart, The Last Enchantment

I remember I was in the 4th grade when I decided I liked to write down words. AND I liked the words to tell stories.

I grew up in a family of readers…both my grandmothers always read to me…one grandmother would read the newspaper comics to me, the other (a 1st and 3rd Grade Teacher) would read Little Golden Books to my brother and I, PLUS tell wonderful imaginative stories about her childhood in San Angelo, Texas.

Our parents were readers, therefore supplying my brother and I with all the books, comic books and fanciful reading material they could afford.

The Library was our friend!

I got my first camera in the 5th grade. A camera which used film, that had to be developed — took eons to get back and sometimes the photos were so poor they weren’t worth keeping.

As time progressed I finally had the ways and means to put both media’s together, via a blog.

What a joy!

To bring together the photos of clear or cloudy days, small brilliant moons, or violet-rose vaulted skies, or when pink light flooded our farm.

Together with WORDS!  What a marvelous satisfaction.

Then to bring both (writing and photography) these things together in one place to share with you I was finally able to share this shining place Terry and I call home.  Our farm.

A place that rests within our souls and breathes softly on twilight winds.

I thank you, my friends for allowing me to share our lives and the farm with you,

Love,

Linda

The Lights (Gifts) of Friends—Wednesday, December 23, 2015

Every day and in every way we are given gifts from friends and strangers.

Some timesI receive a comment left on my blog or on my FaceBook Page or a personal email; other times a fun little package arrives in the mail bringing heart felt joy to my walk down the long lane to and from the mail box.

Other times is a simple sharing of someone else’s celebration of happiness…you know those quick little drive-by moments when your soul responds to a strangers boundless joy.  A tiny spark attaching itself to you, making the rest of your day warm and lovely.

Yesterday my blog comments, my FaceBook post and my email were full of wishes..Thank you so much! You do warm my soul!

Wall-HangingThen Jan from the Poodle and Dog Blog brightened my walk back home from the mail box with a beautiful handmade wall hanging.  My steps were light enough to carry me over the mud in pixie dust fashion.

Lights-2That evening Terry and I took a short drive around our small town of 9,000 people looking at the Christmas lights

Lights-1Cheerful gifts from strangers, for anyone who wished to enjoy!

Frosted-Cherries-2I am done with all my baking, cooking, planning, and gift wrapping.  Today I clean.

Thank you, my friends, each one of you are a gift!

The Adventures of Fuzzy and Boomer on Friday — Whew!

One set of company has gone home.  Zooker and Bella are now home with their Dad and their soon-to-be new Mom and TWO CATS!!!!!

Best-Friends

Teehee Bahhahahah laugh chuckle

On-a-walk

Fuzzy and I took them for many walks daily for about a week!

Now Hank is staying with us while his Dad goes to work and the little kids and Mom-mom stay with our Mom and Dad until their Mom-mom gets to feeling better. She is really sick so we are helping out.

The other dog cousins (Houston, Chaco, and Balou) have company also, so those companies are also staying with Fuzzy and I and our Mom and Dad.  They have some really cute kids we love playing with.  Then Sunday our other first cousins…our Mom’s Brother and his wife and their two fun dogs…Cocoa and Butter are coming to play with us.

Birds

The hummingbirds are THICK…all of the little kids like to stand in the flower beds trying to get the hummingbirds to land on them.  The birds don’t land, but the kids seem to have heaps of fun trying to get them too.

Humming

Fuzzy says that is the longest he ever sees those kids stand still!

Many

We had a very exciting ‘tree event’ right smack in the middle of all this, but I will let Mom tell you about it later.

the

Anyway, for now…just know that we are taking care of lots of pets and kids and our Mom is taking care of our sister Misty and other really nice people who are visiting.

3. Be sure to link your nominees within your post
4. Let them know they have received this award by commenting on their blog
5. Share the love and link this post to the person whom you received your award from

So the awards go to (in no particular order at all)…..

1.     http://manker.wordpress.com/     This is a cool blog about Inn keeping in Montana.  She talks about all sorts of things and even puts recipes out there for those of us who like to cook.

2.     http://justwanderingthrough.blogspot.com/ Meadowlark is a former farm girl, living in the city.  She had lots of different thoughts on lots of different subjects.  Most thought provoking, I dare say.

3.     http://www.bedifferentactnormal.blogspot.com/     This is for the crafting person, this is a really fun spot to visit.  I just plain enjoy the colors she does her blog in.  Right now everything is Valentines

4.     http://avereenie.blogspot.com  Mrs. Ruiz is truly a fun and caring person.  She visits lots of blogs and leaves many warm and supportive comments. I have really enjoyed knowing her.

5.     http://haffnewie.wordpress.com/  Hi-D has just rescued one of the cutest little puppies, adding that darling girl to her family has been fun to read about.

6.     http://prairieprologue.blogspot.com/   What an amazing and accomplished young woman!

I love reading many blogs, and getting to know so many great people I.  Sometimes we cry together and some times we celebrate.  Sometimes life is just a series of same-o-same-o, and with this storm, which has ruined power across the United States, concern for each other shows up on the blog.  I had a hard time picking, because each person I visit has brought value to my life, from recipes, encouragement and Happy Birthday wishes.
