Undulating Waves of Light —- Monday, March 25, 2019

It’ has rained every day since Friday

The morning sun struggled to break through the thick clouds; color skimming over the tops of the Paonia mountains and under the massive drizzling thick, heavy clouds

Then last night, the sun broke through, making everything bright and dazzling

And I saw in the northeast

A rainbow, filling my beating heart with quiet happiness

Today the sun is shining it all it’s splendor, with a taste of warmth in the air!

From my heart to your world,

Linda

Then the Following Night —- Sunday, March 24, 2019

The cat, dog and I had to take another try at that wonderous March Full Moon

The clouds were staying away

The air had a softness to it

And the moon still looked full

Although, it wasn’t really any more

Nor did it seem as close to the earth as it did the other night

Still, for a time the moon transcended the boundaries of the ordinariness of every day — making everything seem magical.

Watching the Edge of the Mountains—-Thursday, March 21, 2019

Boomer and I went for our wee evening walk, coming home just in time to see the Worm Moon starting to rise over the Paonia Mountains

I don’t usually mark my photos, allowing any and all of you to copy and use as long as you give me credit,

But I felt these were exceptional.

You are still welcome to use them

The sight was wonderful; fully charged with the golden glow of the Worm Moon of March

The sky was just darkening

The rising moon’s light lifting into the world

So huge and large

I stood mesmerized!

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Boy, Does Time Fly—Wednesday, March 20, 2019

Here we are the very first day of Spring!  2019 Spring Equinox

Happy Spring everyone!

To add to that joyous news is my wee announcement from WordPress:

Happy Anniversary with WordPress.com!

You registered on WordPress.com 12 years ago.

Thanks for flying with us. Keep up the good blogging.

Gosh, how fast time have flown…not the easing of life between each season; spring, summer, fall and winter

But the years…it doesn’t seem like 12 years.  Yet over those 12 years, I have made many wonderful friends through this blog.

Each one of you a jewel in my day and a gift to my heart!

Thank you, everyone!

Counting Gifts Gained —- Tuesday, March 19, 2019

Terry and I were extremely surprised and excited and blessed to have our oldest grandchildren call and say they were coming to spend this past weekend with us.

Having teenagers call and ask to be with you, as elders, is so amazing and moving.

You see, as a person ages you stop being ‘seen’.  It really is that simple.  Women are much more than men.  It’s not that we vanish from sight, but the showy glitter of youth and the marvelous golden shine of adults cause ‘elders’ to recede into shadows.

I know we are still loved, but there is a sorta struggle to relate—after all grandparents were never really young, never really ‘did’ stuff like they or their parents do and —sometimes don’t even understand all the tech gadgets all the kids know and use, thereby making elders — well, boring.

But our life here on the farm gives us an unusual identity

And old friends from Delta an added bonus.

So, for a marvelous three days, we had our oldest grandchildren with us—we played dominos, Skip-Bo,

went swimming at Ouray, the kids got to see old friends, and I cooked all their favorite meals.

Today we are back to our regular routines, tired but ever so pleased.

In That Glow —- Monday, March 18, 2019

Of the lengthening days and the shortening of the nights

That wonderous moon grows ever fuller; shining brightly from ascent to descent.

Brightening our dimming dusk making it glow!

As the Light Dances in the Evening Skies—-Sunday, March 17, 2019

The long v’s of big birds fly over our farm in the evening,

looking ever so carefully for a place to land, eat, and rest before taking off again for that very long flight to their summer homes mesmerizes me.

I love to stand outside and listen to their calls curling around me in the air

The glimmer of pink on the clouds,  the shadows of the birds flying over;

I feel as if there is deep magic on this earth…that God is very generous with us!

From my world to your heart,

Through the Air Lightly —- Thursday, March 14, 2019

The Sandhill cranes are still filling our fields at night, then taking to the skies early morning as they move ever northward.

One day (before this big storm arrived) I caught a wee snow cloud putting down snow on the Grand Mesa…it was a lovely sight to see.

Also, I had a photo of a Ringed-Neck Dove I took as it sat on the fence next to our lane…

It flew away when it saw me.

The last three photos were taken just a day or two before our big wet storm.  But they were so lovely I wanted to share them with you!

My Mother Always Said—Wednesday, March 13, 2019

Our sun is covered with thick clouds of heavy moisture….it has been for three days

Today we have wind…lots and lots of wind, plus rain and very cold temperatures.

The birds are flying low the sky; the air full of their calls.

Wind is good and bad…for it is the wind that will move this stuff out of here; chilling us to the bone.

And possibly drying up all the rain.  🙂

My mother always said: “When Easter is late so is Spring”.

I think she is right! 🙂

Behind—Very Behind—Tuesday, March 12, 2019

ALL Photos were taken a few days ago when we had a break in the weather!

We are having rain again today; the air is sharp and cold, there is a feeling of snow just there on the surface of the rain, but not really.

The blessing in everything there is no wind.  Although, the wind would take the rain away…just say’n.  (I guess I’m being fussy)

Although the moisture was very needed, the weather gods need to slow things down a bit and bring on some warmth and sunshine.

Farming is already three weeks behind and everyone is starting to get extremely worried. Our clay ground needs to have time to be worked up, left to mellow out, before it can be planted.

So here we are waiting…and the rains continue.  Maybe soon we will see sunshine and warmth.

Maybe.
