Our Blade (that is what Mom called Bladen—Our Blade, so I do too.) came to visit.
He was just the perfect visitor for me
Always, always, always he let me play with his sock
And FOOT!

Our fields are now full of green shoots
(Bird and shadow! I was delighted to get the two together)
The first cutting of alfalfa has occurred in all three fields
Finally, we having truly
Started summer here.
For us…here on the farm
Summer starts with the first cutting of alfalfa, usually around the first of June
Here is another bird shadow–only of the Northern Harrier Hawk
Then Fall begins with the harvest of pinto beans. (Which we don’t raise anymore)
So June, July, August—Summer.
That sweetest time of the year (for me)

The day is full of such amazing, unexpected, delightful sights
Little sightings, fluttering softly on the edge of our every day
Elusive, searching, trotting here and there
A bright golden/red spot moving along — just over there
Sometimes running in a quick and fast tightly wound sprint
A blur of spun gold with a lush bushy tail.
Time is always spent in the pursuit of food
The minutes the seconds, the hours
The pause…so still…the birds are silent
Food.
One life-giving up living for another.

The is an UpSide to the wind—Sorta
It helps the sap rise up out of the roots of the trees, so the leaves can gather light and we can have shade
It can bring in a storm…it can, not always, but it could
But the biggest thing it does (on human terms)
is it keeps the bugs
At bay. 🙂

Terry is starting to feel so much better now. It’s been a huge long-haul, but we are making it.
Six Doctors, four trips to the emergency room, a three-day stay in the hospital, then an operation for gallbladder, plus thyroid medication, plus finally being able to eat again…(he lost 20 pounds) the corner to health is being turned.
What a huge marvelous blessing!
I am so grateful for all your prayers, good wishes, hand-holding across the internet, and hugs both near and far.
You are all such wonderful caring people!
From my heart to your heart,
Linda
