Because
of this
Terry had to go out yesterday morning
And rake the hay…..
Please, Please, no more rain….not until we get this field baled and stacked!
PLEASE!

I’ve been wanting to show you this for sometime
But Friday’s with Boomer came first, then the start of the water on the farm came second
But one-day last week we had rain
Which is an essential part of spring, bringing vitality to all growing things (and mud, but that is a very different story than this one)
What I wanted to share with you is this!
As the sunset, the mist created by the rain was the color of rose
I have never been blessed to see such a sight in all my life
The whole hazy effect was very enchanting. Even when the rainy mist turned into shadows.
What a joy! What a blessing!
From my world to your heart,
Linda
While out-and-about, looking at the sky through the tiny lens on my camera
The two hens and Beaglie following me
Mindy choosing to NOT get in the way of two hens (they like to chase her–making her a wee bit unnerved.)
I happened upon a lovely gift of heart…waiting there in the shadows of other rocks
A marvelous gift all dressed in gray!
From my world to your heart,
Linda

The heavens sang to us yesterday afternoon
Washing the air clean, leaving the soil warm and damp, the grass shining, the corn leaves radiating their rich smell of corn pollen all through the air.
This morning the heavy clouds started rolling back; the sun claiming the sky.
Everything feels rich, yet languid, draped in lush shadows and pleasant fragrances.
Life is good.

A small teasing wind started blowing around Two O’clock yesterday afternoon
When suddenly the clouds burst open
Causing Terry to come in as quickly as possible
Still not soon enough
Wet was the word.
Perfect for the earth, the plants, and the air!

Linda
We have been having afternoon/evening/nighttime showers.
They are random and quick.
Building up; crashing and booming with lightning and thunder
It’s amazing and marvelous all at once.
Friday night in our town, they had an outstanding experience of an inch of rain in 30 minutes.
Where we live we got lovely, just right, rain. The air clean and refreshed. The air sparkling.

Linda
I was standing in my kitchen ironing yesterday
When a wild wind blew up
It was part of a rainstorm racing along the Uncompahgre Plateau, filling the canyons with droplets of very wet liquid
The storm was rambunctious, but only on the plateau
I continued ironing, watching the storm clouds throwing spears of lightening
When suddenly the back door flew open. I turned quickly thinking I also heard a pick-up drive up
The door opened; banged and I heard “LINDA!”
“What”, I replied. Feeling very puzzled.
Twice more the door flew open and twice more I heard my name
Then I realized it was my Dad calling me for the voice then said: “Come here, Linda”. (Or did he say: “I am here, Linda.”?)
I went to the door and then on outside; standing on the back step my heart fluttering in my rib cage
I wasn’t afraid, just eager to see my Dad again.
Just once more. To actually see him and hold his hand, like I was a tot again.
But, of course, he wasn’t there. There was only the wind, the yard, and a storm dropping lush moisture on canyon rims.
From my world to your heart,
Linda
We had rain. Just a wee bit. 🙂

Gradually the rain left— rippling showers along the hillsides and valley’s
The rain chutes were bright and colorfully dazzling along the curve of the world
Still, the birds continued singing as the daily chores were accomplished
Taking myself and the camera out and about I decided to see how the apple trees were fairing
The blooms were marvelous, although the scent was rather watered down 🙂
Today the air is warm, I have the windows open and the yard is lush and green
How wonderful the world is after the rain!
From my world to your heart,
Linda
Mom and I
and sometimes Mindy, took walks in the rain, in the wind, at night, and in the storm we had.
But this morning we took a walk in SUNSHINE!
Anyway, here are some of the things we saw
These tiny birds are back…YAY! Mom and I love to see them and watch them…they watch us, by freezing very still, not moving at all.
If Mom talks to them, they get very nervous but don’t move.
Last night, after the storm left, Mom and I went for a short walk to the old tree, which is no longer there, because the ditch company sprayed and killed it….and Mom saw a helicopter coming our way.
She took a picture (Mom always has her camera with her) just to see if the helicopter would show up. Only the lights on the helicopter showed up. Still kinda cool.
Our storms were mild compared to other places so the renter is back on the land this morning.
The sun setting through the storm last night was rather cool.
Mom and I checked the apricot blooms…yep, froze. There might be a few that make it, but nothing like there could have been.
The canal water came yesterday!
Mom and Dad and I all thought YAY!
Dad says today we make ditches!
Oh! I hear a big truck! I know that motor!
Gotta go!
See ya,
Boomer
It’ has rained every day since Friday
The morning sun struggled to break through the thick clouds; color skimming over the tops of the Paonia mountains and under the massive drizzling thick, heavy clouds
Then last night, the sun broke through, making everything bright and dazzling
And I saw in the northeast
A rainbow, filling my beating heart with quiet happiness
Today the sun is shining it all it’s splendor, with a taste of warmth in the air!
From my heart to your world,
Linda
