Things that Fly—-Thursday, October 1, 2020

Honey Bee

Those are bugs flying in the air.  All types and varieties

Sparrow in flight

The Barn Swallows left us in one huge swirling swoop

These just think they can fly.  🙂

To have one of these fly up in front of you is to startle you greatly (pheasant)

Not a feathered type of flying, but one that flies, never-the-less

And, yes, this really does fly!

On Silent Feet in Front of a Game Camera —- Tuesday, October 1, 2019

(From Pinterest)

The game camera captured a unique experience for you and I.  First here is a moth

Then a rather messy spider web

Suddenly the spider started tearing apart the web

She seemed rather disgusted with her work.

Then up she went

The next photo shows it RESTORED!!  Beautiful!

Here is the spider in the daytime

Just so you know.  I took down the camera.  The little panicky feeling I get when I see the web, not to mention the spider itself is not a thrill I want to experience every time I go out to get the camera.

In the Lights Friday Night—-Monday, October 1, 2018

Friday Night was Delta High School’s Home Coming….several ‘car guys’ from around the area were contacted and asked if they would be willing to escort the royalty for the Homecoming with their convertible car—top down, of course :).

Gradually they all drove in and lined-up

It was a wee wait until half-time

Then it was time!

(I don’t have permission to show their faces)

A Magical Experience for one special night!

Friday Day it Rained and Blew —- Sunday, October 1, 2017

Off and on all the day of Friday we had thick, soft, wet clouds in the sky,

Then an opening between storms would gift us with prisms of beauty, so wonderful they seemed to breathe in the autumn air

Then the storms would come again puddling on the earth leaving behind a leaden stillness,

and a sullen sky

Then once more in stunning splendor the sun would break forth and brighten the gloom

The parted clouds lighting the world.

Then that evening as the sunset

Built within the sunset

A sundog appeared!  I stood marveling as the amazing sky sang with echoes of humming songs in color for all to see.

From my world to your heart,

Drenched, Wet, Beyond Wet, Wednesday, October 1, 2014

river.jpgWe are wet!

FloodVery wet!  And it’s still raining!

Glow-1The sunrise yesterday promised more wet later in the day.  (Red sunrise in the morning, sailor take warning)

Storm-Moving-in-3Although it did hold off most the day.  That evening we could see more storm clouds blowing our way.(Red sunset at night, sailors delight. ?)

Yep! Right about 6 in the morning we had rolling thunder and large cracks of lightening, then …

WetRain! In fact it’s raining as I write this.

BUT there is a wind with this very wet storm. The weather people are saying this storm will move out of here tonight with wind gusts up to 25 m.p.h.

Rabbit-Brush-2Then temperatures will dip to 25-35 degrees.  I do believe Summer will be officially over after these very wet storms get out of here.

The weather people are also saying we have several days of sunshine in the near future…I’ll take it.  I’m a sunshine kind of person!

DrainTerry dug little ditches so the water can run into the canal–which reminds me that the canal is clear to the brim…

river.jpgIt’s going to take a spell to get us dry again.  That is for sure!
