Here is what Jason said…
“Yes, please do send it along to Linda with our compliments and healing thoughts towards Boomer.

Boomer is doing ever so much better!  Sammy stays with Boomer all the time.  A kitty and his dog.

Boomer finally ate breakfast this morning: shredded chicken, a dollop of yogurt and tiny squirt of gatorade to wash it all down.  (Which he thought was amazingly yummy)

He is still coughing, but the swelling in his stomach is receding, his nose is off and on cold, and he has developed a huge desire to have Mom sit with him and hold his paw.  (Which I admit I do 🙂  Just like a little kid he has figured out to start coughing and Mom will come sit with him and hold his paw. 🙂

He is walking around, even walking out to the chicken house with me.  But not always, but I figure any willing to move action is good.

And his tail is waggles in greeting!  Which I adore.

As the setting sun shivered gold across the fields, Boomer asked to go with us to change water last night.   I always look at that as a good sign!

So….once more I want to thank each and everyone of you!

When winter touched our lives, you held us in your thoughts and prayers.  That is a huge deal.  Your light shown in the darkness giving me hope.  In turn I was able to give Beaglie hope.  Please don’t laugh.  Hope is a mighty thing…and I thank you for it.

From my heart to your world,

Linda

The Adventures of Boomer on Friday—-Mom and Dad Leave

Mom and Dad left.

Mom gave me a kiss on the nose, my special ‘when Mom goes to town without me’ treat, then she told me to guard the place from the fox and they were…..gone!

Forever….Sigh.

So I slept.

My oldest sister came up with Etta and asked me to come spend the night and the next day with them.

I SOOOO agreed!

I hopped into the car and we were OFF!

Off to meet Voodoo!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djF9GOjNU74

Where we all had to sing a song!

Off to hang out with Rocky and Black Dog.

Off to see Shiloh and to play with Etta.

Etta my love!

Then it was time to go back home and watch for the fox.

I didn’t have to watch long Mom and Dad came back home very shortly after I got there.

Mom and Dad got a treat and so did I….a sleep-over with Dog Cousins and to make some new dog friends.

Life is good!

The Adventures of Boomer on Friday—-My World View

That wily fox zips through the farm yard every morning EARLY!  I’ve taken to sleeping outside in my dog house, since the days and nights are so hot.  That is how I KNOW he zips through.

I just let him run through. He never stays long and always seems in a big hurry.

Then Mom and Dad are up, we all eat breakfast and out we go to change water.  Sometimes the water is in the corn field, or the other corn field, or the pinto bean field, or….it’s right out front in the alfalfa field.  Where ever it is that’s where we go, first thing in the morning.

Then we go back out after lunch and just before dark!

Mindy Lou cat likes to follow me around and around, no matter where I am she is sure to be.

That’s alright…Min-Min and I are best friends.  I haven’t had a best friend since my wonderful buddy, Fuzzy Dude McDoddle Brown died.  It seems just like yesterday we were hanging around together.

Sam Cat really doesn’t do much with us.  He is the BOSS and we do what he wants.

Mom says Sammy is very old now so he doesn’t have to do ANYTHING if he doesn’t want too!

I always, I mean ALWAYS go out and gather the news on the farm.  I do it first thing in the morning, again after the mailman comes (there is LOTS of interesting smells on mailman tires), sometime after my afternoon nap, and then just before bed.

I gather the news out on the ditch bank too.  I call that work, because Mom and Dad are working.

Sometimes Romeo comes over.

I have to be careful around Romeo, he likes to nip by butt— right by my tail area.  It’s happened a time or two and, boy, does that make my beagle legs move FAST!

All in all my days are pretty full.

P.S.  Here is the world on my level!  🙂

The Adventures of Boomer on Friday—-It’s All Falling into Place

Mom, Dad and I all sighed a HUGE sigh of relief yesterday. Everything is starting to fall into place.  Just like all you good folks out there assured Mom it would.

My brother, Evan, came out and helped Mom and Dad get the planter ready for the pinto beans.  Then we all headed out to the Middle Field and started planting the pinto beans.

Well, Evan planted; I had other stuff to do.

Dad supervised…Mom was there to say: “Terry, just watch you can’t pick up more than 15 pounds”…you know…that kind of stuff.

Then when it was getting close to being done Dad decided he wanted to try out the tractor seat…Just to see if it bounced too much.

Nope!  Didn’t hurt one bit.

So we worked until dark!

Mom gave me a big hug and told me: “Dad is on the mend!”

I gave Mom a huge lick on the face and wagged my tail HARD!

We’ve turned the corner!  The biggest worry is taken care of…now everything else will come with time.

The Adventures of Boomer on Friday—-MOM! HELP!!!

momHi, Dad!  What are we going to do today?

mud

Mom?!  Do You have a plan to do something?

Are we going to get to do ANYTHING?!?!?

OH!

We are going to work on the fences!  YAY!

riding-through

Off we go!

fence-work-001

Dad is making an old part of the farm into a new farmed field; down the fences must go.

“STAY!” Mom said as she got off to help Dad.  “I don’t want you rolling in anything, eating anything, or being chased by some mad Momma.”

So I stayed.

And I stayed.

The fencing stuff piled up, poles and wire…I sat there patiently.

mom-help

Then …. Mom.  Mom, there is a cow coming to sniff me.  MOM!

MOM!!

YIKES!!!!

I jumped off and ran to Mom…a wet cow nose on my dog fur is  SCARY!

You know what?!?!?  Mom just laughed and picked me up and put me back on the four-wheeler.

“You are okay, Boomie!”  She has moved.”

Mom said this while chuckling all the time.

But, geez, those creatures are HUGE!  And they do things, like try to stomp me…

in-the-way

Mom petted me and got on the four-wheeler and we were off.

Whew, it’s good to be back home!

The Adventures of Boomer on Friday—-It Started Out as a Good Day

The whole day started out just wonderful!

bark

I barked the mail lady down the road, gave her the good ‘ol what for, and barked her all the way back out of the yard!

Felt wonderful!

The sun was shining; Mom and I went for a walk!

helicopter

We saw a helicopter, flying low enough Mom took a photo of it!

I barked happily at it!

The snow is leaving EVERYWHERE!  Only place left now is the canal, and it is melting!

Then I trotted off and left Min-Min and Mom.  I needed to gather lots of news from around the place.

While out there I found a really nasty, stinky, spot and gave myself a GREAT BIG RUB and ROLL in the nasty, stinky, stuff!

I was so very happy to get back to Mom and Min-Min so they could smell this lovely odor with me!

rolled-in-nasty-stuff

Mom. Was. Not. Happy!

She marched us right home and gave me a bath, with hydrogen peroxide, warm soapy water, and lots of clean rinse water.

Sigh!

see-me

Mom is such a spoiled sport when it comes to really cool nasty smelling stuff.

The Routine of My Life is Part of My Daily Contentment—-Sunday, January 29, 2017

The Adventures of Boomer on Friday—-So Mom Says to Me

my-boomie-my-booSo Mom says to me—“Guess what, Boomie-Boo?  The sun is shining and it is kinda warm outside….lets go for a four-wheeler ride!

With that Mom, Dad, and myself ran out the back door, hopped onto the four-wheelers.  (Well, I didn’t hop, Mom won’t let me because of my very weak knee).  We took off for the Upper End, the Back Forty, No Man’s Land, even ran up on the Rocky Point where we saw a coyote heading down from Coyote Hill and racing through No Man’s Land onto the our neighbor’s pasture and through all the grazing cows.

The cows stopped and watch the coyote, took up the “you come to near and I will charge you” stance…but the coyote ran on.  Dad said we must have scared the ‘daylights’ out of the coyote for it to take off like it did.

Mom and I watched and watched until the coyote turn around a hill and was gone.

Shadow-Boomer

Then Dad went down and check out a one of the fence lines while Mom and I rode on top of the hill checking another fence line.

romeo

Then we all met up where Romeo hangs out, talked to him for a spell and headed back home.

It was a great time riding in the sunshine!

The Glancing Touch of a Feathered Wing—-Tuesday, January 3, 2017

walk-2For some reason sleep seems to elude me.

Night can be so long. Sigh.

Sometimes I fancy I can feel the touch, of that feathered wing, of the  Dark Angel flitting around searching for those ‘whose time has come.’

When that happens I get up and read or Boomer and I take a midnight walk.

Sometimes I think it would be nice to be a little child again…you know that time when you would feel all fretful and fussy inside, unable to relax.  Then along would come Momma–holding our little child’s body against the warmth of her body.  My Momma would hum as she held me; until rest came.

walk-3

Terry and I have decided we need to move more…get outside…Do Something.

At different points in the day I put put on my large, large coat…it’s so big it swallows me whole, but I like it for hauling wood–it allows me to move around easily.  I, also, don’t care it it gets torn.

walk-4Terry, Boomer and I take a walk.

We walk to different parts of the farm, make mental lists of the things we want to get done “come Spring” and then head back home.  Feeling  refreshed and glad of the momentum in the fresh air.

down-the-lane-157Then maybe…..just maybe…my mind will GO TO SLEEP at night!!!
