I mean after all Stewart and I
Are most darling little squirrels
Anyone could ask for.
Just ask Boomer. We help him lots and lots of times!
Stewart and Stanley Squirrel
Your friend(s) on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
While over at the other hay stack yard and implement yard, I saw
This darling little squirrel, gently sunning him/herself on a bare branch of a Tamarisk Tree–Salt Cedar is the common name.
Carefully Boomer and I left the area…allowing him/her the right to a bit of sunshine and a wee rest in the Spring-time air.

Latest News:
Sammy-Sam the cat …
every day and all night he patrols the farm. He used to go way over to Misty’s and check out everything over there, but last winter he ate a poisoned mouse and just hasn’t felt like tackling that huge long walk anymore.
Of course, age is creeping up on him…he turned 13 this year. Still Sammy-Sam does a good job of gathering news and information from around the farm buildings and the house.
Dad-–Dad went up to the Upper End to check to see if any Aliens had landed. Mom, Fuzzy and I went along. Mom checked out the drain ditch and Dad walked to the end of the irrigation ditch.
Fuzzy guarded the Four-Wheelers…his job was to make sure we had our rides to get out of there if the Aliens were around.
Robin—Robin sang out his report that The Aliens could be found out by the haystack.
Dad and the two little girls hurried as fast as their legs could carry them. Who wouldn’t like to see a Alien…young, old or in-between?
Squirrel-gossiped to me, Boomer-Reporter-at-Large— that squirrels are going extinct and scientists have now put them on the “endangered species” list. He says by the end of this week Squirrels will be extinct so Fuzzy and I cannot, he repeated NOT chase him or his friends. The world would be a very dreary place without squirrels.
(Fuzzy and I agreed so we won’t chase Squirrel every again…until…hum, NOW! —-RUN SQUIRREL!)
I, Boomer, the Farm Reporter says: Dad made several trips to change water yesterday and the day before and the day before that and….
Fuzzy and I think Dad has figure out time travel—hop on the four-wheeler and you can travel into future and into the past – within minutes.
Up to change the water, back to house, up to change the water…
BREAKING NEWS: Sammy-Sam says
the Raccoon is back………….
Bark, bark, yip, yip….COME ON FUZZY…RACCOON!!!

Boomer
Boomer is my bestest friend in the whole-wide-world! (Well, outside of Mom, that is). I really don’t like other dogs, never have, never will! But when Boomer slipped into my doghouse one night I knew he and I would be friends for ever more!
Now that you know that I adore Boomer we take naps together, we bark the mailman down the lane together,
we ride on the four-wheeler with MOM, chase the squirrels and bark at the birds.
We do lots of stuff together.
We make sure the fox stay away,
or at least does a fast run through our place.
We do NOT bother the porcupines, the badgers (Boomer was chased by one once) or the coyotes.
We both have decided the Mom and Dad are on their own when it comes to the skunks, that is just all there is too it. A dog who gets sprayed by a skunks gets BATHS…lots and lots and lots of baths! (Hank-the grandkids dog, doesn’t care he will take on a skunk anytime. And he still goes after any all porcupines.) PHEW!
HOWEVER!!!! I draw the line as some stuff…like eating milk duds (`!) I just can’t do it. I just can’t.
The other thing I don’t get is Boomer is a beagle…purebred the Vet says. Beagles are bred for hunting…RABBITS! (I’m a cow dog…always have been, always will be!)
Colorado has a Beagle Rescue if you are interested.
You know what? Boomer NEVER chases our rabbits….ever! I use to…they hop really fast so it’s fun to follow them into their hiding places. But I never hurt them; the only things I hurt are mice and snakes….anytime…anyplace…anywhere! Bite, snap, done! There ya go…no more mouse or snake! Of course, Boomer doesn’t understand why I like to feel that crunch and snap in my mouth. (I can’t swallow what he likes to slurp down…)
Boomer doesn’t even give chase to the rabbits ever…just keeps on sniffing around on the ground, he even sniffed right by one of the rabbits. How strange is that?
Well, anyway…in the scheme of things … I really don’t care. You see Boomer is my bestest friend in the whole-wide-world. If he doesn’t want to chase a bunny…you know what? He doesn’t have too.
Fuzzy
Summer (well technically we aren’t there yet, but its hot enough a Dog can call it summer) is the bestest of times.
Sure beats winter…freezing cold, so cold your nose freezes shut, wind that takes your nose right off your face and then laughs at you because you can’t breathe anymore and no rides in the back of the pick-up because it is just WAY TOO COLD!
Just like in winter we go everywhere with Mom and sometimes Dad. But in summer they go lots more places we get to go with them too—
Like town—Fuzzy and I wait with Mom while Dad goes into the parts store or the hardware store…Mom always waits with us because there are people around that will kidnap dogs.
We always go irrigating and sometimes just for walks with Mom. There we see things like rabbits…
I NEVER CHASE RABBITS. Mom says I’m a funny beagle because that is what my breed was bred for…to CHASE RABBITS.
But I don’t.
They are my friends.
I’m more interested in just smelling the smells and seeing what news is out there. Maybe I was a news reporter in my former life. Tee hee, hahaha…snort, churckle!
Fuzzy likes to bark at the birds…he never bothers the Robins, but he sure does like to bark at the Barn Swallows! 🙂
We help with hay, the irrigation, (morning, noon and night) and we work with Mom in her yard.
Lately the heat has been ‘over-the-top’ not just the heat but lots and lots of high winds. But Fuzzy and I have it figured out how to stay cool.
Nothing beats underneath Dad’s pick-up!
Nothing!
We lay under there and we stay cool and unruffled!
On top of all of those really cool things to do we get to chase
SQUIRRELS!!!
Gotta go! HURRY FUZZY HE IS HERE!
