The light has turned —remember this color 15 minutes before sunset—it’s what I call Winter’s Blessing—-PINK!
But now, the sky is turning into a glow of
Purple!
Purple is the color of Spring and Summer!
From my world to your heart,
Linda
The Contrast of Evening Sun on showers in the canyons
The very strong line of shadow and light
Night rising up on the land–defining the last light in the sky
Big fat rain clouds—- sunlight through the old apricot tree
Sunrise dressing the earth with Morning
Dusk filled with brilliance
Even the wind, in all its amazing power; lifting the soil into the air— gifts us with a refreshing of sorts.
Each and every moment of our full 24-hour day gives us so much—so many things of contrast, so many types of varying gifts they are too numerous to count.
From my world to your heart,
Linda
Time…it is something we always, always, always, and forever think we have enough of–
Time, it shows up in lots of ways…like I will do that tomorrow
Or, I’ll get to that, just not right now
Or I know I need to: get that done, go help this person or that person, say a kind word
to this or that person
Then life happens, or a person’s lack of ‘getting it together’ happens
We get lost in our own world, while what we really needed to doing or saying or helping or…
Never gets past that other phase called “Good Intentions”
So, before it is too late, and all that I have left is that thought
What if?!?!?
I want to tell you THANK YOU, for being loyal readers all these years. Thank you to those who leave chatty comments…whereby everyone gets to know one another.
Thank you for sharing with me that small little burst of yourself.
You make my blogging joyful and lend a warm glow to my day.
Very much from my heart to each of you,
Linda
Just as I was getting used to the winter colors…marveling at the colors that consist of pale blues, the shimmery lavenders, the twenty shade of pink…
The heavens blazed with forgotten shades of orange and yellow
Lighting up the canyons and the Uncompahgre Plateau…(Un-come-pah-gray, with the accent on the ‘pah’)
Even the blue of the sky reminded me of the blue of summer.
I think the heavens send us these visual reminders that spring and summer really does come…the skies will be full of warm colors and blue skies…hang on…hang on…
So I shall.

Your friend,

A lovely storm cloud rolled in last night, I just had to take photos of it while I was hauling in firewood…
the setting sun made the coming storm a delight to see.
This morning it starting sifting big fluffy flakes down for a short time, leaving us with just a skiff of snow.
The whole experience has been really lovely and the best part is the snow is wet.
However, as I write this it has a melted…giving the earth a nice drink.
Have a good Sunday Everyone!
Linda
Saturday, Evan came out to help Terry and I clean up
some of the charred and burned trees, shrubs and fences around and on the alfalfa hill, it took us all day, but it sure was worth it.
We have three more knolls to go and 6 little hollows, plus the two miles of property fence line on the West side of the place.
Of course we still haven’t heard any more from the insurance guy and the Ditch Company must be way too busy to come through on the North and East side of the place.
We are lucky that we don’t have any cows this year as this fence issue would be a huge problem. We can work on everything as we have time, which really does help.
If any of the grandchildren showed up, I put them to work 🙂 Two of them came for about an hour at a time. First one showed up then the other. Having them help pick up wire and broken stubs and charred fence posts with me was rather nice.
They would stay for a time, but this kind of work is hot, dirty and tiring
I think it does their little souls good….helping out the old folks! 🙂

The sunset last night was outstanding, a cloud cover was drifting in for today so as the sun sank everything turned rose and pink!
