Dancing (Walking) in the Light of Wolf Moon—Tuesday, January 2, 2018

Our little walk around mid-night last night (Our meaning Boomer, Butter–visiting nephew dog, and Myself) started out under cover of clouds

Gradually they started to thin

Breaking forth to sprinkle moonlight on us

A glorious moon for the start of a New Year.

From my heart to your world,

Bedrooms—That Spot of Deep Contentment—Sunday, December 31, 2017

The cows and the equines have special places they like to bed down

They pick the warmest spot (if you don’t believe me all one has to do is go sit in that spot for a spell, then move to other places and compare)

That spot is a churn of dirt and poop.  For the minute a cows stands up from laying down, she poops! 🙂
Everyone gathers together in those ‘spots’ the bedrooms, resting and chewing their cuds.  Its a gentle time of peace.

But if a storm is coming in…the bedrooms wait.  For this is the time of bulking up, filling the stomachs with fodder; creating inner heat and warmth.

The Clouds are thick and grey and heavy; the air feels like snow.  But the weather people say there won’t be.  Still the cows and equines say…bulk up…it feel like a storm coming in.

I wonder who will be right?

Breathing—Pure and Adorable—Thursday, December 28, 2017

Our grandson is here.  Terry called and asked if Blade could come and stay for a spell.  Grandpa needed some extra help on the farm

So he came…all full of joy and cheer.  Willing to help dig up an old culvert and help Grandpa replace it with a new one

Willing to gather and load a feed bunk and help haul it down to the equines,

Willing to do all those super stressful things normally MY JOB!

Of course there were other things included, like an afternoon at the Rec Center playing basketball and swimming…

Going out to target practice with Grandpa for a spell,

Then this afternoon moving a cook stove to another place in town

And helping to do some welding …. a new thing to learn.

All farm boys need to know how to weld, Grandpa says.

Grandpa and Grandson…

I stand in the shadows watching them, listening to the warmth coming from two beings so much a like—each braced to meet the day and take whatever comes—

I stand watching—-

remembering—breathing.

Two Gifts —- Wednesday, December 27, 2017

Our daughter Kimberly, and our son-in-law, Cliff came out one evening after their work and brought to us two quilts Kimberly made for Terry and I.  One for me–the one for Terry

The time and the work on these had to be immense!

Image may contain: 1 person, sitting and dog

Cliff posted the above photo of Kimberly and Gypsy working on the binding way into the night.  🙂 On his FB page.

I had to smile!

Thank you, both, for such amazing gifts!

Love,

Terry and Linda

The Journey without Directions—Tuesday, December 26, 2017

The Year 2017 is ending.

Bringing with it’s closing days — clear skies with very cold air.  No snow.

The moon is growing toward fullness, but for now it rises brilliant in its’ growing toward’ stage; in skys violet-black flooded with stars.

Then swings down in to the west long before morning; leaving the high vault of that bowl, which we call sky dark blue and chilled.

The soil here is dry.  Extremely dry, but works for walking on and not tracking in mud. 🙂

Cold air, brilliant sky…gradually we end this year.
A year, which begins, as all other years…a blank slate, going forward without a map, going forward into the unknown…

Grateful me– very grateful to be alive.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Fifty Years on December 21, Sunday, December 24, 2017

“Maybe the Universe fights for souls to be together.  Somethings are too strange and strong to be coincidences.”–Emery Allen

On December 21st, the shortest day of the year, and the Equinox of Winter Terry and I

Married!

For this momentous time our children all got together and gave us a Anniversary Trip to the Wiesbaden Hot Springs and Lodge in Ouray, Colorado—complete with 90 minutes massages and money for eating out.

They splurged on the Sun Room HoneyMoon Suite

And a special soak in the Lorelei Private Hot Spring Pool.

Shannon did all our animals and chores for us while we were gone.

Fifty Years and great kids…there really isn’t much more anyone else could ask for.

From our world to your heart,

Linda
