A Spring Bright Windy Day — Thursday, May 26, 2022

“Good Morning, Girls”, Mom said. “Ready to outside and have some fun?”

“Hush your worry, Skitter Bug” Fluffy clucked as they headed out of the hen house.

“If you keep thinking of things that are going to get you, you will never get to see the world.”

“Look Skitter Mom has scattered Yummy treats right here!”

“WOW! Even bugs! Fluffy!!  BUGS!”

“OH! MY GOSH! RUN, FLUFFY RUN!”

“No, Skitter, come this way…more bugs, more places to scratch”

“I’ll stand watch, you’ll be safe.”

“This is different, sorta hard, butttttt YUM a cricket!!”

“This wind is something else—ruffled butt feathers!”

“Just turn sideways…your feathers will stay down, Skitter.”

“OHHHHHHHHHHH, this is heaven.  SKITTER leave the hen house and come play!”

The End—Wednesday, May 25, 2022

I was looking at clouds, as we changed water one day —this cloud looks like it had a definite end; as at the end of a funnel

Then the End of the day colored this set of clouds

In a most glorious way

The End of the day’s sunlight!

The South End of our farm is called the Upper End an end of the farm, on the Southside.

The Last Set of the day—a type of end to our work 🙂

The End, just before the rest, after, which, comes the Beginning!

A Post all about Birds —Tuesday, May 24, 2022

Sometimes I wonder if birds are the physical stardust of the earth

Since the earth is magnetic

Attaching all of us to its magnetic current.

The birds live here with us

Scattering their pixie dust upon our beating hearts

Their voices are the music of the heavens

Their flight is a type of wonder for our eyes

Watching them is an extraordinary experience

we can quickly become hypnotized.

Exquisite, actually

Even the sudden flight of Mr. PH

Or the mad dash into the air by both—Mr. Ph and Mrs

Then there is the bounce and hop of the Red-Red Robin

Or the flight of a Quail—oh, my! 🙂

O!

For our eyes

They are up and away

In a second.

A beautiful moment of joy/wonder/delight

Yes, I do believe

Birds are the Earth’s

Star Dust

The living breathing answer to happiness!

At Some Point —- Sunday, May 22, 2022

“At some point in life, the world’s beauty becomes enough.  You don’t need to photograph, paint, or even remember it.  It is enough.” — Toni Morrison

When I was little my Mother used to tell me, that whenever we had fog (Fog is a rare and beautiful thing here in the High Mountain Desert)

That a cloud came to Earth for a rest.

Saturday morning, we woke to a cloud sitting on our part of the Earth; resting.

From my world to your heart,

Trip with a Great Group of Friends — Tuesday, May 17, 2022

We belong to the Delta Street Rodder’s Car club

Every month someone in the club volunteers

To lead a group of (however many people who belong to the club) want to go on a cruise

For our cruise in May

(the April cruise went to Arizona and traveled Route 66)

Sam and Kyla led us across the Colorado Monument

Where we stopped off an on to see the sights

Met lots and lots and lots of the two-wheeled riders on the road

Those who could drove with their tops down

The curves were many —- complete with several fun tunnels

A stop at the Visitor’s Center

The air was perfect, the sunshine plentiful

Here is a map of the road

We ended at Munchie’s in Fruita, where Sam and Kyla had a reserved table set up and waiting for us.

Then we all headed our separate ways.

A perfect day!

Survivors of Winter — Monday, May 16, 2022

I always wonder how the wee little animals do

Mr. P with his feathers are shinny and georgous

The silent winging of our resident hawk

The happy peaceful feeling

Being out THERE on the farm.

When the Going Gets Tough —- Sunday, May 15, 2022

The wind is so over-the-top

And I am so OVER IT!!

See all the trash blown in from everywhere!

Feeling sorry for myself and all the extra work

I looked down—and the Earth gave me a kiss!

A wonderful heart rock!

Smiling all the way…rake in hand.

The Adventures of TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-Corn, Friday, May 13, 2022

Dad is planting corn,

He got it all planted

Then he went out and knocked down the rows

Now Dad and Mom wait

( of course, they don’t sit and wait)

After the corn gets a tiny sprout

They will start the water on the cornrows

Soon the tiny seeds will make

BABY corn PLANTS!

As for me—I am busy keeping the farmyard

SAFE!

The Upper End —- Thursday, May 12, 2022

In spite of the wind

The work goes on.  Here we are tearing down fences to make more pastures

Boomer and Fuzzy’s little creek—the one they loved to splash in is flowing strong

The Upper End, on a day without wind
