Merry Christmas Eve—-Monday, December 24, 2018

“What is Christmas?  It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace.”—Agnes M. Pharo

Entranced—-Sunday, December 23, 2018

I am always entranced by the moon

There is such an excitement where the full moon is concerned

The playfulness of the clouds as they shadow the glow

Sometimes I like to just sit on the outdoor swing

Watching the clouds play softly with the moon.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

A Life Story Started 51 Years Ago —- Thursday, December 20, 2018

On, Friday, December 21, 51 years ago Terry and I were married

But since this coming Friday, December 21, it is Boomer’s day to tell his story;  I’m posting this one day in advance.

Over time as the seasons’ changed so did our hands.  We wear our histories on our hands, it seems.

But that isn’t all, for from those long-ago days of ‘beginnings’ we have added to our lives beautiful souls, who make each and every day a marvel.

From my heart to your world.

There is Always One —- Wednesday, December 19, 2018

Terry and I were oiling the top of the snowmachine trailer

when I happened to look over by the canal and saw a cow meandering happily down the fence in the other field!

Terry took off down the long lane and shut the gate to our road, and opened the gate between our place and the other place.

Being a young cow— first-year heifer—she thought about throwing a wee fit, but also being very pregnant she decided running with a huge weight in her middle was just not going to happen she walked down the long lane until she got to our yard.

Then deciding NO ONE WAS GOING TO TELL HER WHAT TO DO….she crossed the dry canal, ran onto my lawn, ran to the corner of the yard and neatly jumped the electric fence, not even touching a hoof to the wire.

Next step for us was to find out where she jumped out and fix the fence there.

Our neighbors, next door, are big farmers and just finishing up the last of their corn.

Boomer and I helped.

Later we all took a small walk as the sun went down.

Old Magic —-Tuesday, December 12, 2018

What is Old Magic, someone might ask

To me, it is the song of the Earth—-the song the Earth always sings every moment of each and every second of our lives…the Song of Beginning

The song of NEW, the song of Pure and total Joy!

It’s a Bold song, truly!

But one that all animals living on the earth can feel.

Even us…if we care to listen.

It’s always present, sweet, undulating

Ethereal…

An echo of a continuing prayer

Everything is all part of that space between breaths—which make up this lifetime I call Gathering.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Our Earth is Very Old—-Monday, December 17, 2018

Our earth is very old, but to me, it doesn’t seem so.  There are so many, many things of wonder I stand in awe every day.

For one thing…the Red-Winged Blackbirds didn’t leave this year.  Why I don’t know. But their joyful songs make every day of winter a miracle unfolding.

Even the wind touching on the land, in the bare trees, and blowing cold upon our faces is a remembrance of how old and marvelous this ancient earth really is

The feel of the wind is a reminder of all the places the wind has been…all we have to do is listen

And within the wind, if you stop and ‘feel’ (don’t concentrate.)

You can hear the Angels breathing

From my world to your heart,

Linda

I Love Watching Shadows—-Sunday, December 16, 2018

From my office window upstairs I can see the shadows as they change, develop, and disappear daily

They grow long, shrink short,

Compress together until many shadows become one

The sunlight moves upon the land making all the shadows

Ripple and move like silk

Until the land is deep into the dark

But the full sun also forms magic shadows

Shadows all brought to us by that exquisite sky

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Watching the Sky, Listening to the Wind—-Thursday, December 13, 2018

The sky was full of warning…or at least full of the promise of snow

Gusts of wind plummeted clouds here and there and all around us

Then around three-thirty in the afternoon

Rare flakes started falling here

The sky quickly darkened

And the ground slightly filled with fun little flakes of wonder

It wasn’t a lot, but it was nice.

Then a wee rain came, turning all to ice

But who am I to argue with the weather Gods…

It’s still white, it’s still moisture and the mountains are shining brightly today with even more snow!

Dancing in the Crisp Light — Wednesday, December 12, 2018

I tried my hand at photographing birds again.

It’s actually rather hard….at least for me

They skitter away in a flurry of wings at the slightest sound

Silently streaking off into the sky, safe from me and my camera

I have many shots of their backs as they swirl quickly away from me

Or I get their portrait through very dirty upstairs windows 🙂

The air is alive with singing

In a tiny shard of time

A hawk flew by looking for supper.  He is that weird shape next to the building.

From my world to your heart,

Linda
