Pastures —- Tuesday, May 7, 2019

The pastures are looking very nice this year.

Terry is creating new ones and refurbishing old ones

Yesterday, he planted a mix of grass and alfalfa seed in a whole new area

And covered a huge scar up at the Upper End with more rich grass seed.

Spring is holding steady full of the sound of humming bees and the smell of rich green lushness.

Terry is saying often now…how much he is enjoying putting into reality some of the dreams and plans he has had for the ‘rest of the farm’.  🙂

In the Quiet —- Monday, Mary 6, 2019

In the very quiet of the evening

Or in the breaking forth of the sun through the storm

The light seems to balance

In a rather bold but precarious way

Strengthening or waning always burning

Gifting us with more than a glimmer

Of just what I think, Heaven must look like

a wee hint of the splendor awaiting each of us beyond the veil.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

In the Silence of the Air —- Sunday, May 5, 2019

Our air is full of the scent of the Lilacs

Rich and sweet and lush all at the same moment

All three of my bushes are in bloom fluttering gently in the soft spring breezes

How very blessed we are, for it’s been several years since we have had blooms

Thankfully not this year.

Another glorious gift from the sky arrived in my message box on FaceBook

A most beautiful double rainbow spanning Vadarae’s cotton fields in Texas.  A most delightful sight!  Glorious to behold!

Thank you, Vadarae!  A rainbow from you, now for all of us!

From my heart to your world,

Linda

Today the Sun Came Out —- Thursday, May 2, 2019

The dark curtain of rain and grey clouds left us over-night

Which is a very good thing.

For you see today, this day around early morning milking time, 75 years ago

My husband started life on his parent’s western Colorado Farm

And, as it was written in the stars, not only would he become a Hotline line foreman for DMEA, he would also continue farming through all the years, even unto today.

Happy 75th Birthday, Hubby-Bo.

From my heart to your world,

Linda

Thudding, Roaring, Crashing of the Rivers —-Wednesday, May 1, 2019

Although it is raining and raining and raining, in the mountains around us it is still snowing.

But between the rain and the upper mountain snow, there is still melt occurring.

The Robidoux River, just below our farm in the Roubidoux canyon is flooding….all the

the tremendous amount of water coming from the high country on the Uncompahgre Mesa

Just looking at the water like this: rushing, raging, tearing away the banks completely changing the course of the river

Tends to make me feel like I might fall in and drown….so I stay far, far away

The Rubidoux River is so full it is almost to touch the railroad bridge as it flows into the Gunnison River…

The Gunnison River is swollen from the gathering of all the streams and the merging of the Uncompahgre River (in Delta), plus the Rubidoux River…it is HUGE now…hurtling toward Grand Junction where it will join the Colorado River.

As the day started winding down, I saw a very faint rainbow in the hissing rain of the dark grey sky

It wasn’t very bright, nor did it last long.

Still, I saw it…and that was just the most perfect gift on the last day of April 2019.

All Paths Each Human Walks Leads to God—-Tuesday, April 30, 2019

It’s terribly cold and rainy here with nasty wind and a sharp chill in the air

The Lilacs are blooming, finally.  Although, the wind is too sharp and strong to get any photos of their glory

The old-timers…folks older than myself (LAUGH OUT LOUD), since I am 70 now…

Say all the signs are pointing to a cold and wet summer.

Possibly that is true

Only time will tell.

Still, I marvel at the beauty all around me and give Thanks for the gifts that God has given to us.

From my heart to your world,

Linda

Moving On —- Monday, April 29, 2019

After reading all your comments; making my blog site more secure

Working with the kind and gracious lady who is the owner of her blog and a most wonderful generous author (I have read all her books and LOVE them)

She assured me all was well between us

The horrible comment was removed from her blog (or will be soon); all is well now.

So thank you each and every one of you!  From the bottom of my heart!

I Had a Terrible Thing Happen to Me —- Sunday, April 29, 2019

Someone forged a comment on a wonderful blog that I follow using my blog email and blog address as the author of the comment.

The lovely lady contacted me in a private email, slightly admonishing me in a very gentle way.

Here is the nasty ugly comment I supposedly wrote:  “I must admit not a lover of cats here at all as am super super allergic to them all but your kitty is very nice and glad you have a “mews” friend and is pretty kitty.Busy too buy the looks .You have a lovely home there .so happy for you you still like Gotland.”

A comment like that is so unlike me….so very unlike me.  It breaks my heart someone would be so cruel as to use my name in such a hurtful way.
From my very sorry heart to your world,

Those Gentle Springtime Buds —- Thursday, April 25, 2019

Cherry Blossoms

Whenever I walk outside in Springtime, I always feel as if I have entered into a scared time

Cottonwood Leaves

When we have finally crossed that bridge leaving winter behind

Linda’s Tarda Tulips

and step into a whole other world

Pear buds

One whereby we must always ask permission to wander in

Pear Buds

The tiny buds on each and every branch are carriers of hopes and dreams

Pear Blooms

Their beauty so sweetly scented the air is light and playful

Plums

Each little bud the keeper of secrets

Prune

And soon to manifest the solid reminder of the tree to reproduce itself in fruit.

A walk in the yard is a walk into whorls and swirls of lace and fragrance of a most fleeting and magical time.

From my heart to your world,

Linda

Some Days I Wish —- Wednesday, April 24, 2019

Somedays I wish I could commit to my mind

The sensation of each and every day that I am blessed with,

Even when things start off wrong and seem to go that way throughout the whole day

I still feel like magic is manifested constantly

in each and every second.

It’s an Old Magic

Full of wisdom we really should not mess with

Magic so profound and strange

And subtle…..

We can only wonder and say a prayer of gratefulness

And when we stop and allow the Old Magic to work on us,

We are engulfed in a sense of well-being.  Like a prayer…warm and pulsing, like the love of a mother, a best friend, protection of a strong dad—a knowledge of peace and awe.

From my world to your heart,

Linda
