Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas to you!
Love,
Linda
“Huh?! What do you want, Mom?” Meow!
Oh, there you are.
Come here! Let’s go outside.
It’s Christmas time! I want you to say Merry Christmas to everyone.
“You are NOT going to get me to look at that camera ,with this stupid hat on. I don’t care if it is Christmas or not!”
Oh, Sam-sam. Look up, Please! Just this once!
Okay! It is what it is!
Merry Christmas from Sam-Sam. 🙂
Love,
Linda
Today is the shortest day of the year AND the longest night of the year. Everything forward from this time brings us longer and longer days (and colder and colder temps, until March, that is.)
Today is also our 49th Wedding anniversary!
My we were young! Terry was 23 and I 18.
Our elderly hands tell a story of their own (Terry is 72 and I am 67)…work worn and (in my case—full of age spots), but after living life on a daily basis, I guess it is to be expected.
We were both farm kids.
And we raised our kids on this very farm. Over the years we milked cows, raised spring’n heifers, kept cows on the farm for weed control
We also had rabbits, sheep, goats, a horse or two, cats, dogs and chickens.
We still farm, although not with as many animals.
49 years…next year 50! What a wonderful thing it is!

It’s terribly cold here. (Cold is relative I know, but for us 4* at Nine in the morning was terribly cold)
So Min-Min Lou was asked if she would enjoy spending her time in the house.
She told us she thought this would be a very good idea.
Therefore, we now have an indoor/outdoor cat.
I told her she can come and go as she pleases! She thought that was a VERY good thing.

Joe Copper has been following my blog for sometime now—
He wrote me a very nice email and sent to me this very cold, but also very lovely photos of his home town, Oswego, Illinois.
The first one is the moon, the second one shows the wind whipped land, and the last one a stunning sunrise.
Then to give us a little taste of what the weather people were saying, when he sent the photos…the above!
Brrrr!
Thanks, Joe! I always enjoy seeing what is going on where my blog friends live. I also enjoy sharing what is sent to me so everyone who reads, can also share in the kindness.

After days and days of thick gloomy clouds the sky parted and the sun shone through giving us a December
Rainbow! And it was just at the end of the alfalfa field shining on the road sign!
What a wonderful, unusual, and perfect gift for this time of year!

I had that one time shot of the perfect rising of the Full December Moon and the setting sun drenched mountains, then it was back to clouds.
But last evening the the clouds thinned just a smidge
With the air restless, edgy, and even agitated.
The sun a very blurry pale burst which blessed somewhere ‘over there’ with it’s pleasant glow.
The clouds had thinned enough to show the disk of the sun, a pale blurry spot in the sky, but sinking lower.
Then the last rays of the sun burst upon the clouds in a luxuriously pleasant intense color of light
There is a feel of rain in the air today. Although, the clouds are thick, they are high. It’s not as cold as we’ve been having; I can smell moisture. If it cools down we will have snow otherwise there is a strong possibility of rain.

When I went to the mailbox the other day I had a package all the way from Chicago, Illinois—
Aquila had sent to me a lovely shawl in the perfect lilac color!
I am most humbly thankful for this amazing present!
Love,
Linda
The Full December Moon rose so fast I didn’t catch it over the Eastern Horizon, until it was very high in the sky.
But there is was…the setting sun splashing color on the frozen mountains, the mist-filled valley’s picking up a little of the color and that Moon!
That moon touching the rose colored sky; a most solitary, magnificent, sight on ice-cold winds.
Stunningly glorious!
From my world to your heart!
Linda
It’s been cloudy here. Thick deep clouds. Sometimes they clear and sometimes not. So I have been unable to get a photo of December’s Full Long Night Moon.
The photos used in this post are old full moon photos, so please forgive. If I can get a current one I will post it.
The full moon for December will occur TOMORROW! Even though the clouds have been thick that wonderful, silver/blue light still flickers through, causing me to dance for joy!
You can be sure that Boomer and I will be out walking in the moonlight! 🙂
